+1 y1. Count calories. If you don't count calories, it's sheer luck if you lose weight.
2. Don't exercise. Exercise makes you need to eat more.
but yeah, you should exercise anyway.
And if you like eating lots of food, and you wanna burn more calories when your body is at rest so you can eat lots of food, and if you want to be healthy, and if you want to die in your sleep in old age with a young mind rather than in a hospital on pain killers that cloud your already cognitively declined brain, then you should exercise. (Don't exercise too much. Give your body rest days. Days. not day. we're not in our 20s anymore)
If you need to lose a LOT of weight, I recommend just counting calories (and only do a little bit of exercise maybe twice a week). Restricting/trying to alter your dietary habits while also trying to establish a routine of exercise is too much at once in my experience.00 Reply

No matter what you eat or how, or how much you exercise. The formula for losing weight is to be in a caloric deficit.
If you burn 5,000 calories per day and you eat 4,500 then you get the same effect of a person burning 2,500 and eating 2,000. It's approximately 1 kg every 7,700 calories, considering that the first few kilos that you will lose will be nostly glycogen and water.

Well, if ye pump yarself wiff creatine and steroids, then the first a few kilos you GAIN will be mostly glycogen and water and musclas, and while still gaining these the fat will melt simultaneously.

+1 yAvoid most items that has large quantity of sugar, reduce the intake of processed foods, and have a diet that's low in calories and high in nutrients. Combine that with physical activity and keep it up for a week’s/months. You will see small first results after just about a week.

+1 ycut out refined sugar and white flour.
Eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Cut back on fried foods and switch to lean cuts of meat. Drink a large glass of water before and during each meal.
Snacks: sugar free peanut butter or high protein/low sugar or high fiber/low sugar snack bars.
Regular exercise.

@Flatmanlewis I've lost 30 lbs doing that. I do have a burger or a couple slices of pizza or a full breakfast of eggs, wheat toast, and hashbrowns on the weekends, but I don't over do it. Mon-fri it's KETO, fruits, and veggies

Good on ya man!! I can’t give up my ice cream or a cheese burger but it’s a once or twice a month thing not a every other day thing.
- +1 y
Okay, you know what? That’s a lie. I eat a bowl of ice cream twice a week. Sorry. It’s a weakness.
- +1 y
@Flatmanlewis there is Keto ice cream. Not as good as the full sugar stuff and more expensive, but it's not too bad.

I love my Hagen Daz but I’ll look into that.
Weight loss is 90% nutrition. You can't out-exercise a bad diet.
Exercise will help, especially if you build a little muscle to help boost your metabolism, but those people doing endless cardio to "burn fat" are going about it the wrong way.
Get your nutrition in check, do some strength training, and be patient.
00 ReplyYour diet is the biggest factor followed by exercise/activity. Hydration and sleep are frequently overlooked even by health nuts but all of these factors matter.

Weight loss drug like ozempic
- +1 y
Ozempic makes you lose other shit like muscle and bone. Take low dose androgen instead. And if you're that worried about virilization then go with albuterol (non androgenic) sooner than semaglutide.

Asker+1 yWhat diet do you recommend?
- +1 y
@genericname85 I think it can, I ate take out most days and still lost weight lol. As long as you aren't eating like a 600LBS person you should be good.
- +1 y
a balanced diet poor in carbs but not without carbs and with as much "unprocessed" foods as possible, all while also staying in a caloric deficite. because if you compare the effort it takes to "consume less calories" and to "burn that same ammount of callories", that's not even remotely close.
i mean just compare the effort it takes to "eat a cheese burger" and the effort it takes to burn the calories you gain by eating chease burger. i can eat a cheese burger in probably 2 minutes and i could eat like 5 cheeseburgers before i'm sated. working off just one of these cheese burgers probably takes around an hour of medium effort work out and 30 minutes of high intensity workout. - +1 y
so it's a much easier choice not to ease a cheese burger xD
- +1 y
but yes if you don't change your eating habits you will gain it back lol
- +1 y
well if you're eating high fat, high sugar stuff, you can VERY easily eat callories that aren't even possible for olympic athletes to burn in a day. what you eat doesn't "really" matter when it comes to weight gain if you somehow manage to not eat an excess in calories. but it is terribly easy to eat an excess in calories if what you have is sugar and fat rich food.
- +1 y
@genericname85 True, but I have a love for chicken burgers 😂
- +1 y
well again. it's much more easy to "reduce calory intake" than to "increase calory expenditure" xD that is true in any case no matter what your current diet is like. and workout is DEFINITELY a thing you should do anyway for overall health effects. but in terms of "losing weight" and "burning more calories", it is not very efficient compared with just eating less calories.
- +1 y
