The book says rice is bland what does it mean?
And also I can't understand greasy and rich
That looks like it's from a book on learning the English Language.
Greasy refers try to fatty food particularly fast food. Its similar to oily but the fat isn't as nice.
E. g fried foods
Rich means it's enjoyable but often hard to eat large amounts due to an intense flavour. Eg. Chocolate cake, coffee, some sauces.
Spicy means it gets it's heat from spices. Some times people will say hot instead but that also refers to temperatures so it can confuse. Spicy could refer to any heavily spiced dish but is often means there's a lot of chilli in it.
Bland means not much flavour or a bit boring. Eg plain rice or pasta
Usually foods are combined to balance them out. Eg a spicy curry with bland rice.
Yes it's a student book, thank you for answer
Bland - tastes of nothing or very little taste.
Rich - tastes a lot/intense taste.
Greasy - Well you know when you bite into something that’s greasy, like the onion rings, freshly made donuts without anything on them etc they’re so greasy you can taste the grease. It tastes… Greasy. Like grease. Fat. Like eating cooking oil to an extent.
Wow, I can see of all them, thank you so much

Bland means that it doesn't have much flavor to it. So white rice, egg whites, & tofu would go in there as examples. Greasy means that there's a lot of oil & fats in the food, such as when you fry something like onion rings or french fries. Rich means that it's really sweet, like a chocolate cake or brownie with frosting on it.
Many people eat rice for all two or three meals by mixing it with other flavours in their food. I don’t think it’s bland, it’s almost flavourless just like water is almost flavourless.
I love eating the rice with yoghurt or seldom ketchup
