Overpriced bland food with no taste and portion in the name of art,

Selling the ambience way more than the quality of the food.

Fake countless food critiques and bloggers with zero taste sense giving counterfeit reviews.

People with zero actual cooking skills commenting on the delicacy of food

I never understood why people go on dates to fine dining, better can bring self-cooked food or can go to a good not so shiny, or expensive place where the food actually tastes good.

Nope. I believe there is value in going to a nice restaurant for the experience whether it’s an anniversary, a birthday, or to propose. You take pictures and make a memory. If a particular restaurant makes food that isn’t tasty then I can’t see that restaurant surviving.

Personally speaking, fine dining is more about paying for the experience and ambience. Whether the food is good or bad, it’s all about the art of food and the theme of the restaurant itself.

Paying attention to the food textures, combinations of colors, presentations, plating, ingredients, chef’s art and cooking ability.

I agree. There are some restaurants that make delicious filling plates, but majority provide inadequate portions of slightly above average food for the same $$$ price.

I'm not in that world, nor do I want to be. So I don't know if it reflects reality or not.
