What to do with old rice cooker appliances that is broken?

Being that they coast like $30 new, I say throw it away and buy a new one. It's a disposable economy and companies have engineered obsolescence into their product lines. A rice cooker is really just a pot with insulation around it, a with a heating element, thermocouple, and some sort of control switch interface. A new heating element might coast $5-10 retail, a new thermocouple might coast $10-15 retail and then you have to likely pay shipping. So to fix it would likely cost more than buying a new one.

companies make product these days to be thrown away after a short period of time so that you have to go out and buy a new one. Then they tell you that you cause climate change and need to eat the bugs... Funny how they created the economic model of a disposable economy that wastes so many resources so they can get cash flow, but pollution is all your fault right? Now give up your car while they fly their private jet around the world.

If it's broken, no. Either fix it or dispose of it.

I saved mine for a long time because it was in too good of condition to throw away, but I never ended up finding a use for it. :(
