Does anyone, know any Tips to Cool Down a New Fridge, Faster?

Getting a new fridge tomorrow... I was pretty sure was 2-3 hours last time... even though says something bout 24 hours until cool. I may or may not get a couple coolers and ice tonight that i can't get myself. am trying to think-- on no sleep-- how i can keep this food safe from spoiliing

am so exhausted... any help, much appreciated

Update: guys brought new fridge inside close to 930. was pretty koold.. around 40 minutes, later!! been bout 2 hours now, perfect coldness, now.

There's a lot that you haven't said about what your exact situation is.

Did your old fridge break down and you've been trying to keep things cold in coolers so far? How are they faring? Poorly or well? Throw away the stuff that you have doubts about, do the best you can with ice and coolers with what seems salvageable to you. Hope for the best.

A way of cooling the new fridge more quickly would be to load some commercially bought ice into the refrigerator itself, making the refrigerator into a large cooler, taking care to use appropriate melt buckets under the ice, but that takes up fridge space if needed for your food.

Don't add any warm items to the refrigerator to be cooled down until the fridge is fully cooled down to normal operating temperature.

the fridge works inside, just the fridge door isn't keeping closed barely. so i had to push my body against it to put duct tape to keep it closed, this was last night... just yesdayter, got a new seal because the other snapped.

no coolers yet, until early morning and to get ice, just got that news--from close friend.
had just got groceries yesterday (Wednesday)--around the time when new seal was being put on.
what also makes this hard on top of other things is because i can't think well like am sleep walking ya know heh... just trying not to make a mistake and do it correctly. I will do exactly what you say---i like it and Believe it!

after that seal was put on, i had come home after bout 3 hours, and the top half was unsealed, thats when i put the duct tape on and called Thursday am, saying that its doing that.

when i was away for 3 hours--last night, that half part where the new seal wasn't attached and all cool air from inside was flowing out real fast, ihad tot think quick and i pushed my body against it trying to make that sucker stick, came back into kitchen in 5 minutes.. it had undone-- thats when i put duct tape on it... so the meat, dairy and vegetables... not sure if thats any good now.
when I had gotten home after the 3 hours last night, to get a vitamen water... that water was like luke warm cool.

It sounds to me like you're doing the best that can be done.
Good for you.
Lack of sleep can sometimes make it hard to trust our own instincts.

Keep the food in your old fridge. Duct tape it and put a chair against the door. Or if the fridge is light, turn it around so the door faces the wall, so the wall acts as a stopper and than turn the fridge back around when you need to get something out.

You can get a cooler and some ice but chances are the ice will likely be all melted within 12 hours.

Sadly, no. And, in fact, you don't want to force it faster than the manufacturer says to. Just let it do its thing. That said, two ideas: if possible, keep the room it's in cooler and the heat transfer will be more efficient. Then, don't stuff it full of warm stuff right away.

Finally, even the largest fridge isn't huge... a brand new fridge from the factory isn't going to take that long to cool down. A few hours.

I’ve never had a fridge that took more than a few hours to cook. Maybe 4-5 to freeze everything

You should let it stand in its new location for 24 hours to stabilise the refridgerant gas/liquid BEFORE switching it on.

Why can't you keep your old fridge plugged in while you wait for the new one to get cold?

i actually tried to keep it, long story short... then talked to the gentlemen and they said... your fridge will be used, not thrown away, i said, ohhhh goood

I do not know where you live but I had 3 old refrigerators Our electric company has a program where they c come to your house and pick up your old refrigerator and send you a check for 75 bucks. I have done this 3 times. The only thing is it must be working when they pick it up.
