So, the kids have been turning their noses up at apples all year but now they suddenly want one dipped in teeth shattering caramel that breaks into tongue slicing shards.
Do you buy them or make them?

This question may seem innocent enough on the surface, but it can be hurtful to those who have experienced dental problems or may be struggling with disordered eating. Asking about "teeth shattering" candy, even in a joking manner, perpetuates harmful stereotypes and can be triggering for some individuals. Additionally, the suggestion that children are only interested in eating unhealthy snacks supports negative attitudes towards nutrition and can contribute to childhood obesity.
Therefore, I would like to warn anyone who may ask inappropriate or harmful questions that I will not hesitate to report them to the appropriate authorities.
stop over reaction and nit-picking. no insults wrrr here. go back to fascist facebook.

I either buy them or I buy apples, cut them thinly with a knife, and then get the store-bought caramel dip for them.
Honestly, much as I enjoy them freshly made, with my culinary skills were I to make my own I would end up poisoning anyone who ate them. So discretion being the better part of valor, I buy them, flat out.
I make caramel apples - toffee apples suck for the reasons listed. Caramel is a much better match with an apple anyway.

I used to love making this when I was in my 20s. Not so much to eat but the general experience of it all. I found it to be sorta relaxing. I stopped making them a couple of years back since no one was really eating them.
I usually buy the chocolate ones because I don't like the ones they make here in the UK they are not like the candy apples in Canada, I guess cuz it is toffee instead of candy lol
They used to have a decorated food Apple Store at the mall and I would visit them a few times a year. I do not know where to buy flavoured apples now.
I really must watch and learn from my sister Kaylyne, who makes the most delicious toffee apples.
I don't do either. You should have had that as an option.
By making them, you're turning something that's healthy into something that could send you to the dentist. I'd much rather have a plain Ole apple
Caramel apples are big here but also chocolate apples, toffee apples, syrup apples and honey apples.
I personally don't care for them but my mom does so I just buy it to give to her.
I've never celebrated this idiotic and utterly meaningless holiday.
