Do you like hundreds and thousands?

We call them hundreds and thousands in the UK but they're known as sprinkles elsewhere. They're used to decorate desserts but do you like them?

Strand type, but I don't use them for my cakes and pastries. My younger cousin learns baking and she uses a lot of sprinkles, mostly brown ones for coffee or tiramisu cakes. For me it looks a little bit too amateurish

They’re called jimmies where I’m from, always the strand-style, like a grain of rice, just in chocolate or rainbow. I do like the chocolate jimmies. They make a mess though, so I don’t usually get them on ice cream. Sometimes they’ll get sprinkled on the whipped cream of a sundae though.

They taste like sugar dipped wax to me. If i want something extra in my desserts i have walnuts, chocolate chips or anything else before i choose sprinkles.

They look cute though I'll give them that.

Vanilla is the perfect reflection of my mundane existence. Just like my life lacks color and excitement, vanilla ice cream should be devoid of any hues or flavors. It's simply plain vanilla -- simple, uncomplicated and easy to digest. Sprinkles are for people who lie to themselves and put that big happy goofy smile on their face while one after the other we die. Will sprinkles save you from eternal suffering? No they won't so stop fooling yourself.

They look nice only when you first use them, but after let's say half an hour they tend to melt and they look awful on any cake or dessert

I like very simple and elegant-looking designs without just a chaotic and busy mess of colors that way. Also don't think they contribute much interest to texture or flavor.

In the Philadelphia area and some other major north east cities they are called Jimmies.
