The marbling on that steak is unbelievable
Multiple times living in Japan including some of the highest grade on fancy occasions. This is going to be blasphemy for most steak lovers but I actually don't like it very much! It's so fatty and makes me feel stuffed so quickly.
I genuinely prefer more like a USDA Prime at a good Texan steak house. The best steaks I ever tried to my palate were in Texas and Hawaii. I also actually like a little bit of chewiness to my steaks; I don't like them so tender that they're almost melting in my mouth.
My body might also have some difficulty digesting certain animal fats. I can consume a large amount of fatty fish and nuts and so forth just fine, but with certain animal bats like eating a lot of fatty bacon, pork belly, or fatty beef, I do have to limit myself to very small portions or else I start to feel a bit sick after (not nauseous but a feeling like I ate too much and want to lie down).
* animal fats
@Phoenix98 I miss them very much! I worked in San Antonio for a good while and they had the most amazing steaks and barbecues.
@Phoenix98 I'm probably an oddball but very fatty meat is something I never cared for so much. For example, I might be one of the few people out there who genuinely doesn't like bacon much at all. The only time I really like bacon is the dried bacon bits they put on things like loaded baked potatoes together with sour cream and cheese.
@Phoenix98 Some of the best I tried were local restaurants but I loved this one little chain they had called Rudy's:

They actually let you order meat by the pound. My favorite was the brisket and I'd order a whopping 2lbs of it. Also the side dishes like the creamed corn was amazing.
@Phoenix98 That looks awesome! I've never been or to Austin yet (only San Antonio and Dallas). I figure just about any Texan barbecue place is going to be great.
Something that really surprised me is that Hawaii also had some amazing steaks and barbecues. That's not something I associated with Hawaii before, but also had some of the beast steaks and roasts there, like some of the best prime rib I ever tried.
@Phoenix98 I had some of that Kalua pork which was pretty good; I've never been the biggest fan of pork but it was definitely very fork tender and nice. I think popular there is also Rafute from Okinawa (braised pork belly):
I actually love that but have to limit myself to very small portions since it's so fatty.
I've had Wagyu before and it was delicious.
I've never had genuine A5 Japanese Wagyu which is the one I really want to try it I hear it's some of the best steak in the world.
But those prices man a 10oz 3/8 thick steak is about 200$ and that's on the cheaper side of things /=.
Wagyu belongs in the same overhyped and overpriced food category like Sea Urchin eggs or oysters.
If I want steak I want steak not something that's 90% fat
It’s considered the highest quality beef
But where's the actual beef? That's not marbling it's flecks of meat in a slab of fat
It is marbling. I’m not sure you understand what marbling is
It's a network of soft fat that makes a steak tender. But the meat should make up most of the steak not the other way round. That pic just looks like cheap nasty meat.
Do you understand the fattier it is the more tender it will be?
But there comes a point it's no longer a steak
