What food do you hate the most?

I'm the least picky eater among people I've met so far since I can train myself to like almost any food with repeated exposure. Yet I haven't acquired a taste yet for Century Eggs:

My wife actually messed me up a bit there because I only got to try them once on a vacation in Taiwan. And initially I didn't think it's too bad but I asked, "What's this?" as I was eating the salty exterior jelly around it. Then she replied, "Turtle eggs!"
Then suddenly the image was so repulsive to me. She was joking and later explained to me what it was but I never got the image of turtle eggs covered in green jelly and slime out of my head for the rest of that night.
I think if I tried a few more times though, I could get used to it and shake that image out of my head. But right now it's the one food I can think of that I haven't acquired a taste for just yet.
Definitely! A lot of the way I've trained myself to acquire tastes for foods is to develop an appealing image in my mind. I've completely failed so far though with these "turtle eggs". 😅
Week old semen
For me it's just steak. Anything else and I'd say shrimp scampi. I mean, if shrimp scampi was put in a cheesy sauce with linguine, I'd definitely eat it then.
I can't face eating squid/Octopus or razor clams

Green peppers are disgusting and black bean sauce is like rimming Satan.
How about Calamari? We eat a lot of squid and octopus in Japan but I usually try to warm up my friends from other parts of the world with just the deep fried version. They usually like it although it's very chewy inside.
It's the texture that puts me off
Definitely very chewy!
@GuyAnswersGirls123 it's not being cooked right if it's chewy.

Hmmm…maybe eggplant? The name always bugged me out as a kid, because I’m weird about eggs too, haha, not that they’re related. Any time I tried it, it was kinda rubbery?
Or maybe seafood. Fish is gross, lmao, even cooked, and don’t get me started on sushi🤢
Did you ever play Adventure Island games on the NES? All the fruits and veggies would normally heal us except the eggplant which would hurt us. 😅
I hated eggplant for the longest time and I think partly because I loved those games. They trained me to think eggplant is bad.
@GuyAnswersGirls123 lmao, I just bought a modded NES Classic with all of the games on it, and I was thinking of trying Adventure Island, haha. I remember there was a Nintendo cartoon on Saturday mornings when I was a kid, and one of the evil guy’s henchmen was an Eggplant Man, lmao
I wonder how much such programming influences our food tastes sometimes! For example, I have cravings for what my wife calls "caveman meat", like a giant leg of mutton:
And I get extremely excited when she makes it for me, but then halfway through eating it, I start to tire of it quickly. So it's one of those things that repeatedly gets me hyped up but never lives up to the hype.
So I was wondering why I still crave it so much all the time and I was starting to wonder if the video games I played had anything to do with it! Like Castlevania where we can pick up some giant slab of meat off the ground and restore all our health:

I'm really starting to think this might have had some psychological effect on us. 😅
@GuyAnswersGirls123 Nintendo brainwashed all of us 80s babies, hahaha
Oops, that second link didn't embed for some reason. This one:
So many video games I remember had giant slabs of meat like that for health restoration. Like all I need to do if I get a bullet wound is pick up a whole chicken off the ground and eat it and good as new!
Hell yeah! I just need to eat some flowers as well and spit fireballs at flying turtles if I'm having a rough day.
@GuyAnswersGirls123 I need a star so I can just barrel through traffic jams unharmed lmao
Perfect! 💯😎 I can already hear the background music.
@exitseven Have you ever tried ones that don't involve any raw fish or seafood like Kappamaki (cucumber rolls)? That's usually what I suggest to my friends here in Japan who hate the idea of eating raw fish. They usually like it reasonably well with the vinegar rice:
@GuyAnswersGirls123 I eat seaweed sometimes
@exitseven I enjoy it very much although I think Korean style is much better than Japanese.
Asparagus, cilantro, licorice, star anise, mustard salad/greens, turnip salad, canned peas especially that le suer aka la sewer!, beets, coconut, olives, seaweed, red cabbage (gives me gas pains) jalapeño peppers, pimento cheese, cranberry relish, duck, country ham and black eyed peas. I’m sure there’s others but all I can think of
I love food too much, foodie alert passing by~ 🤭No hate in this area at all lol. But I guess one food I c a n’ t really eat is oyster…. And um spice level because it will sting after/during some mildness and I might cry 😭
truth is... I don't really hate it
I just don't like it one bit... avocado, that is... lol
Wow, I mistakenly thought avocado might be something you'd like very much since I associate it (possibly incorrectly) as a staple part of Mexican food. How about Guacamole?
@GuyAnswersGirls123 avocado is definitely a basic ingredient here, yes... lol
and I can make some great guacamole and few other things with avocado, BUT... I won't have it for myself lmao, I only prepare that for others
I'd enjoy that very much! I love avocado although it was an acquired taste for me. I wasn't used to a fruit so mushy and fatty before without being very sweet at all. Took me repeated tries to acquire the taste but my wife is an avocado fanatic. I ended up acquiring the taste through her.
@GuyAnswersGirls123 that's pretty much how I see avocado... mushy, fatty, tongue-drying pasty stuff that's the worst shade of green too... lmao
but also, pretty much everyone else in my life loves that stuff
Junk/fast-food. I have never tasted any that I would call anything other than complete garbage.
Just because the picture reminds me of it I dont like cilantro
liver and seafood, except for fish, I can eat only fish :D
I will eat anything, but I don't like fish with their eyes still in them.
Olives make me want to gag & hurl. As for liver I can't stand the taste & texture. Its almost as bad as olives.
vegetable dishes, sloppy and all.
soups and mashs.
Cooked peas. Can't stand them. Ruins the taste of paneer when mixed with it.
@TadBehaya now who would say 'no' to kadhai/shahi paneer (especially when I make it)? Not me at least.
Cinnamon
I won’t eat broccoli or sprouts
Only cilantro & grapefruit come to mind.
Anything that contains onions, garlic.
Sushi.. I know, it’s a shame of me 🤣
Too many types I just don’t enjoy eating
