Im curious if pineapples are man made like bananas. I think they should be because they are very juicy and sweet
If I had to guess, I'd say they're not exactly like bananas in that way. Bananas have been heavily bred by people to become the seedless, sweet fruits we eat today. Pineapples, on the other hand, are naturally juicy and sweet, and they've been around in their current form for quite a while, coming from the tropical parts of the Americas. Sure, farmers have probably picked the best ones over time to grow more of, making them even better, but I don't think they're man-made in the sense that they were created from scratch by humans. It's more like they were discovered and then made popular worldwide.

Pineapples are a tropical plant first brought back to the UK in the 1550's pineapples were being shipped regularly from the Caribbean to Europe has always been associated with prestige and luxury due its exotic appearance. As time moved on the natural conical shape has been breed to be the more barrel shape we see today purely for the canning industry to be able to process them more efficiently.
The Banana was not created by man it is an elongated, edible fruit – botanically a berry – produced by several kinds of large herbaceous flowering plants in the genus Musa. In some countries, bananas used for cooking may be called "plantains", distinguishing them from dessert bananas. The fruit is variable in size, colour, and firmness, but is usually elongated and curved, with soft flesh rich in starch covered with a rind, which may be green, yellow, red, purple, or brown when ripe. They type most seen in supermarkets, grocers etc, have been bred to increase the size of the fruit and most of the Bananara of them are of clones that provide fruit of a consistent size and shape, unfortunately this has led them to be vulnerable to a fungus identified as Fusarium oxysporum which is slowly wiping out the Bananara’s
Um, no fruit- or plant at all, for that matter- is man-made. They evolved naturally. Now, we DID modify them, through selective breeding or genetic engineering or both, and I suppose at some point you have to say it's no longer what it used to be- but where's the line?
By that definition, all cultivated fruit is man made.
Nothing we farm today has any relationship to nature because we have bread them for nutrition and not reproduction.
Almost no oranges can be grown from seed, they are grafted onto root structures. Same for grapes and many others.
"Natural" products are really a myth and really sometimes a cult.
all fruit/veg we consume have been selectively bred so yeah, you can class all of it as man made

Every frruit you buy in the grocery store is "man made". They are all bred to yield lots of sweet flesh and little to no seeds.
And than there are a handfull if fruits that are crossbread like oranges or Pineapplestrawberries. There is no such thing as "man made fruit". Fruit flavours are mostly man made as they have no fruit content and are recreations of the volatile metabolites.
But all fruit and veg is selectively bred to produce certain species. You need a plant to make a plant.
As for pineapples. No. Though the species of "pineapple flavour" you eat in sweets is extinct, the species that buy today are clones of those species.
Both have seen selectively bred and cross-bred to produce the produce we now see being produced. :- ) Bananas nowadays are typically AAA-bred Cavendish, and hopefully- this highly selective crossbreed- will not be wiped out in a selectively focused virus, etc.
Pineapple is a Top 1 fruit, so I can understand where that level of perfection could seem suspect😝
Not really. The pineapple is native to south America. It has been selectively cultivated, like most other fruits and vegetables, but other than that it is natural.
no, it is natural. and not by grafted different tree types.
never really liked it
especially pineapple juiceBanana and pineapple have natural origins.
