I am open to try a number of ethnic foods from Asia, Europe, African, South America and the Caribbean.
However, those foods must not include exotic animals or those that are on the red list of the IUCN or anything that has a potential to cause health issues such as a number of "foods" found in more remote parts of Africa and that are known to have caused health issues with humans.
What I am not interested in is to try US American junk food. I pride myself that I have never consumed any fast food or that garbage food that is standard in North America.

I think I am done that the experimenting with food phase.
Water chestnuts- FRESH ones. Everyone you talk to tells you "get fresh, canned is nowhere near as good!", and that's pretty likely, but NOBODY carries them. All I've found is canned. The only fresh ones are in Chinese food, and of course they're not going to reveal their suppliers.
It's all the more obnoxious because I'm in a place where I could probably actually GROW them, but still, nobody seems to be selling.
