Does alcohol really makes you tell the truth?

While drunk (I was 18 and had 2 Four Lokos cans back then) confessed to my crush about my feelings towards him. Other times it involved people saying much they hated their jobs and bosses and other things

So alcohol does makes someone say the truth doesn't it? Drunks generally tell the truth don't they?

Alcohol lowers your inhibitions and dulls the thought of consequence. It's also harder to maintain a lie when your drunk as you struggle to remember what was said and keep your argument structured.

Alcohol won't make you tell the truth but it will make it easier to spot when you're lying.

For some it lets them speak before they think in truth wise. Ok I realize that a lot of people does this without alcohol but in lie wise.

I felt so stupid back then. Yes we dated for a couple months afterwards but then realized we didn't have anything in common so we went our separate ways. I had a crush on an imaginary in the end, lol.
Still, that's an embarassing way of telling the truth.
