Do drunk people tell the truth?

My uncle got very drunk once and during and argument with my aunt in front of other relatives, said something along the lines:
''I fucking sacrificed my freedom for you, sacrificed it all. I did it all for you. You're not ok with my dislike in worthless travel trips but I had to accept settling down with you and form a family. You fucking won. I never wanted any of that.''

Getting someone drunk cannot make them say something that they don't believe.

If you uncle said that he never wanted any of that, then that is how he feels.

The CIA spent millions of $$$ on drugs such as LSD-25 in an effort to make people do or say things that they didn't believe. it was a total failure.

No matter how drugged (or drunk) a person might be, you cannot make them say or do anything that they don't want to say or do.

As someone who has said things while very drunk… some is true, deeply true and some just sounded right to me while I was saying it but really wasn’t how I felt.

Emotions are magnified while drunk so in someways it’s like looking at a reflection on a fun house mirror but then again inhibition is lowered meaning truths that were not meant to be said het said.

Well I've learned that you should listen to people when they are angry. But I've said lies all the time while drunk so I dont believe this crap. Your uncle is just upset... but he still loves your aunt. I know it

When he was sober again, he blamed it on the stupid booze. They went back to their normal routine again. Though I wonder if there is some truth to to that. He literally said he never wanted marriage and he only did it for her.

he's just upset. And people say outlandish things when drunk and upset. Maybe to hurt the other person's feelings. That's how I see it. It shouldn't be routine either

Alcohol brings out the dark emotions and actions of others. It brings their pain to the surface. Their darkness becomes more truthful.

Yeah it seems he was hiding that resentment (of getting nagged into marriage) for the longest. My aunt never knew he never wanted marriage until now.

Yeah that's difficult on both ends. For both your uncle and aunt. But it's good that he said it. He needed to express himself because that's a lot to hold onto and carry. Especially for a long time.

Yes; he was telling the truth.

Though, just remember that sometimes, when people are angry, their statements have more of a pessimistic slant. So maybe he wouldn't exactly feel that way -- or not quite as intensely -- once he calmed down and got a clear head.
