Chicago has the best food in the U. S. It is a melting pot of everything. I have been to most major cities in the U. S. Most states that offer more were inspired by Chicago. New York is probably the only city that can compete with Chicago. Although, I just finished eating a New York Style pizza and I was not impressed.
I have travelled a bit overseas. I have not found a place where the food impressed me much. Italy is at the top of my list of places to visit! The food is definitely one of the main reasons I want to visit. My brother and fiancé used to live there, and both say the food is phenomenal.
I also know how to cook anything from scratch. So I am not easily impressed with restaurant food. I just made my first pizza from scratch last weekend. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had ! I can just imagine how the pizza in Italy taste. 🤤
Outside the U. S. I would say I did not really care for the food in The French Polynesia. However, I am contradicting myself lol… Because a steakhouse/seafood restaurant I went to there is probably one of my favorite restaurants I ever went to. From the food to the drinks, 10/10. No other place still to this day can make my pretty martini the way they did. However, I did not enjoy any of the other food on the island.
You guys have an AMAZING polish heritage and the mustards and kielbasa is worth killing for! Your deep dish "pizza" tho... WTAF? It's lasagna in a calzone!
@DrPepper12 Haha 😭 Deep dish pizza is just a tourist attraction. I’m not a fan of it myself and only enjoy it when I have a friend visiting. Every Chicagoan knows where the real pizza spots are. Next time you are there try, Rosati’s, Beggars, or Barracos. Trust me, these are the spots only real local Chicagoan’s know of. 😉 Also Home Run Inn and Fox’s Pub. 🤤
Ty! I just can't get enough of the variety of mustards!!
Amen I love food in chicago
@DrPepper12 it's great
@DrPepper12 Really? I never even knew that was a thing. Haha
@dolemite58 Yess! Some of the best ! Literally can get anything you are craving. Also, so many places are open late night!🤤
Not a city but I'm fond of the small town of Ludlow, England. It's got quite a lot of good restaurants for it size, I think 5 have mitchelin stars. There's a large food festival and plenty of independent food shops and a good market.

Only criticism is the "sausage trail" competition is a misleading title and a girl can be so disappointed.
It's so pretty! ✨
San Francisco. There are multiple Michelin star restaurants and some really great unstarred but still terrific places to Go in the city itself in Oakland and in Marin. Go a little farther down the coast and you run into all kinds of places along the coast highway including Carmel.
I'd SF really as expensive as I'm lead to believe?
My options are a little limited by the comparatively small number of places I've been to...
... but I'd say Düsseldorf. I like bratwurst. They've got some really good bratwurst in Düsseldorf.
I'm on Girls Ask Guys because I love diving deep into different cuisines and sharing my adventures with food. Chatting about my favorite world city for food is like picking a favorite child, but if I have to choose, it's gotta be Tokyo. Japanese cuisine hits a sweet spot for me, mixing traditional techniques with mind-blowing flavors. Sushi, ramen, and even street food like takoyaki – Tokyo's got it all! 🍣🍜
As for my least favorite, well, it's tough because I believe every city has something tasty to offer. But if I were to choose, I'd say I haven't been overly thrilled with my food experiences in smaller, less touristy cities where the local cuisine isn't as varied or adventurous as I'd like. It's not that the food is bad, but I live for the thrill of discovering something new and exotic. That being said, I'm always open to giving places a second chance because, hey, maybe I just didn't find the right spot! 🗺️🔍

The best food I've had was Guadalajara. And the only place with truly good authentic Mexican food (I had) in the US was Houston, TX. But well the only other place I've tried it in was Florida, so of course border states will have better Mexican food.
Mexican food in Mexico is usually much more plain they have really good food in some cities like u mentioned tho, and ur right all the southwest states have the best Mexican food
I’ve been to all around the Yucatán and Michoacán. There’s still good food to be found ofc but I found it was a lot more corn tortillas and brown rice than what I was used to.
I haven’t tried pizza in Naples I think, but the one in Rome was delicious. The ones in Sicily were a bit too “soupy” like for me. I prefer Ny Pizza ❤️
But for best food in general … Maybe New Orleans first. Their shit is just 🔥.
Least…. I don't know yet. Brain cramp.
NYC is where it's at!
honestly may sound cliche, but new york city is the best food mecca i've ever encountered
@rosemilk I worked in NYC for a few years. It is true that you can find virtually any kind of cuisine there that exists, and most of it is good.
I love Tapas from Barcelona and Shell Fish from Taiwan and Tokyo Tourist food. I had the best chicken and cheese meal and the beast tea of my entire life there.
It was San Francisco where I grew up. But now I don't have one.
Capri has much better food than Naples, in Naples it's all geared toward the tourist crowd so they bland it down to the lowest common denominator. Sicily is also excellent.
I enjoy London a lot, near the Kensington Palace is a great small italian place with the best spaghetti bolognese I've ever eat...
that would be Mexico City...
almost every taco is in there... and, also at the best prices too
From what I've been to I would say New Haven, CT (haven't been to Italy)
The Italian kitchen does by far have superior cuisine so I agree with Napoli.
I'm not a worldly traveller but Los Angeles county and Orange county have a lot of different kinds of restaurants, and more Mexican food than anywhere outside of Mexico
Probably New York City and Chicago have the best pizzas in the world, New York style, and deep dish from Chicago
Italy in my experience
