Why do they call hamburgers, hamburgers, when they are made of beef, is there some sort of significance behind the name?

Thanks for the answers. I was kinda disappointed in the actual reason for the name.
I was hoping it was a better story than it was named after a city.
But sometimes history isn't always gonna be entertaining. Win some lose some.
