On a hot summer day, what is the most refreshing drink (other than water) to you?

This lemon parfait! From california adventure!!
Most refreshing quenching treat ever! 😍❄️🧊 delicious!! I took this photo of it!

I love Icecream but it was so hot and everyone was standing in-line to get icecream and I remember thinking I don’t want icecream, for the first time it didn’t sound appetizing because it was too hot for sweet and creamy even if it was a cold treat it didn’t sound like I wanted that in my mouth.
so I looked at the names on the menu and I read lemon! 🍋! and I was like oh! 😯This sounds perfect! So I got it and it was the most delicious!! I wish I had one right now
Mango lassi
Watermelon smoothie
Chilled coconut water
Shot 😉 + rosewater (splash) + jalapeño juice (splash) + cold seltzer + lime wedge ⛱️
First 3 sounds great. The last one sounds... questionable. I'd try it, but jalepeño juice and rosewater? I'm sure it's probably good though

Chilled tropical juices. Pineapple, orange, orange and grapefruit, guava, ...
I quit drinking soda pop years ago. All of them are loaded with ridiculous amounts of sugar, most of it GMO. And the sugarless ones are toxic. The one exception is the occasional ice cold root beer. But no Coke or Pepsi products.
Agreed. I rarely ever have pop unless I'm mixing it with booze once in a blue moon
Agreed. Sometimes it's just a matter of choices available to me
Blue Powerade or Gatorade
@Dongie haha
I would say Topo Chico or some form of mineral water, but, since water was excluded, a Coke might be one answer. However, Low-Sodium V-8 is another.
I first began to drink V8 in the summer of 2008 as a way to get potassium in my diet since I had been diagnosed with heart issues less than 2 years earlier. I hated V8. I'd buy the overpriced 6-pack of little 6-oz cans antd, each morning, drink one as fast as I could.
However, in the intervening 16 years, I will easily drink a 46-oz bottle of Low-Sodium V8 that has been in the fridge so it is cold. I've come to enjoy it and realize that it can even be used as an ingredient for cooking like as a different from of stock or broth for a soup. I often give some to my dogs and they like it too. V8 can be slightly expensive although about the same as most juices, but I buy several bottles at a time from ALDI (*) where it is like $3.00-ish a bottle. It is definitely good and good for you although you still have to worry about sodium content. (**) I have hyponatremia though, so it's not that big a deal. 45 calories in 8 ounces. It has lots of vitamins and minerals (A, C, and potassium in particular). It has "body" - thicker than water or Gatorade, but not thick like a shake or smoothie. It has a lot of flavor - to me, it's basically liquid umami - but no added sugar. So, if you have to worry about the potential of diabetes when you get older, Low Sodium V8 is definitely a way to go.
These are my go-to drinks now (not necessarily in any order):
Mineral Water (I usually buy ALDIs; it's a very good value; 6 500-ml bottles for $5.79, I think). I also buy Topo Chico and will drink others from time to time).
Some OJ
Low-Sodium V8
1 Red Thunder each morning (It's the ALDI version of Red Bull. 4 12-oz cans for $3.99.)
I might have coffee if my wife has some left over.
Occasional Coca-Cola although I prefer "Mexicokes" which have sugar and not high fructose corn syrup the way Coke was and tasted when I was a kid.
Sun tea
GT's Kombucha when I can.
(*) At ALDI, they save money various ways and pass it on to you. One way is they cut open boxes that the product comes in so you just get the product out of the box. With V8, each box has 4 regular V8s (red cap) and 2 Low-Sodiums (green cap). Like with many products that have mixed "flavors" in the box, one flavor is the favorite so you have to dig through boxes to get it - if they didn't run out. L-S V8 is preferred over regular V-8 due to lower sodium being preferred for health reasons. This is why I buy a few bottles at a time - because others want it too, so you get it when you can. The alternative is going to a supermarket - if they have it! - and pay easily $1 to $2 more.
(**) Original V8 vegetable juice contains 640 mg of sodium per 8-ounce serving. The low-sodium version of V-8 contains only 140 mg of sodium per serving.

Lemonade, I find it to be the most satisfying and refreshing beverage when the day is quite hot.
Love lemonade!
Ha I live in Ontario
And I can say it was pretty hot today. 30 Celsius. You must be further up north.
So is Yellowknife where I have to go to find the girls with the beautiful eyes like yourself? 😶
I'll pass on freezing my ass off 😂 Still though... you have beautiful eyes 😊 Just a passerby compliment
On very hot days I use a smoothie maker.
My favourite is a tin of pineapple in natural juice (drained). two cups of crushed ice and two scoops of vanilla ice cream! Stick a maraschino cherry on top..
It's extremely refreshing.
Something cold and a smidge acidic. So usually soft drinks; preferably cold. I like Slurpee's, myself.
I am a big fan of a drink called Surge, which is next to impossible to find because ::grumble:: keeps pulling it from shelves and then saying it doesn't do well... Yeah... because no one can FIND it anywhere near here.
Hot milk tea. Makes you seeat, then cool down. Ice tea.
i'll be boring and say water. i cannot think of anything else that can satisfy me on a hot day, sorry
okay okay, i think i'll say... mango juice
Fresh coconut juice and cucumber lemonade. 🤤
If I've been working outside and sweating, I'd go for the original lime gatorade.
did you ever try ayran? it's a turkish specialty. and if you read the ingredients, you wouldn't think it's refreshing but it's great!
Either an iced coffee or soda, either of which is not hydrating 😂
Probably some kind of fruit drink like lemonade, pineapple, or OJ. Also I like a like Gatorade or some kind of sports drink.
Other than water, I usually hydrate with iced tea or Gatorade. I think Gatorade is better because tea is a diuretic, that doesn't hydrate me as well... but it tastes good.
I'm kind of boring, just spring water and lime. Maybe a milkshake once in awhile.
I have two favourites for this:
- Assam Buoy (lime juice, sirup and tamarind)
and
- small sips from the glass of pickled cucumber.
Iced Lemon Tea or a iced cordial made with sparkling mineral water.
A properly mad cold glass of Iced tea
2% milk for me.
Iced tea with a nice hint of lemon.
Cream soda but bottled water is even better
