That’s destroying the steak cooking it well done. It’s just hard as a rock and completely dry and if he wants to put ketchup on , he can have his own ketchup doing it by himself. I’m not gonna play his little games. Let him cook his own steak. I’m not gonna destroy high-quality piece of meat.

None of the above. We served steak. We have ketchup in the fridge. He is our guest and he is welcome to have ketchup with his steak even though it wouldn't be my preference.

While a well done steak isn't exactly tender it does have an interesting flavour. Who for example doesn't enjoy chewing on the burnt bits on the end of a roast.

Then make him a steak but include some medium slices, some medium to well done and his well done. Not everyone likes rare meat or even medium rare. You can make what appears to be basic food more upmarket, it just takes some thinking and working out.

If it's a cookout, they prep their own condiments. I def take requests for doneness, so I'll cook it well, rare, whatever, if they want. But I'd probably laugh and be like "cool, it will be done in 15 minutes. The ketchup is over there."
