I'm not a huge fan of cooking because of the dishes and the cleaning. Also, because of the consumption of time. I do prefer to cook my own food though because I can make sure it's healthy and cooked up to my standards.

Another negative to cooking that I didn't have in my 20's, cooking for others sucks. As a child I was forced to cook, and do it the way my lazy ass single welfare queen Mom wanted me to do it for 2 half sisters (All Different Daddies) and for herself while she sat there smoking pot and drinking her 40oz. telling jokes about how useless men are. Then again, I got to do all the cleaning as well.

... Now as an adult, it's not that bad, but my wife and kids have preferences that I don't always have. For the longest I had to exclude shrimp, mushrooms, and eggs because of my youngest. My wife is a professional cook and she has unhealthy tastes as well as undue creativity sometimes. If she cooks she'll make a ton of dishes like she's at work where they pay a dishwasher, doesn't clean as she goes, and that overly creative side sometimes results in a dish that has so much shit in it that I can't even taste the food. Like, why the fuck does a simple egg omelet have to be smothered in cream cheese with 4 kinds of meat, and 6-8 different veggies, take 4 pans, and 2 hours to produce? I was just trying to eat real quick before lifting weights...

TL;DR When it's just me, it's quick easy, and I can move on to something else quickly. I don't even notice it as a chore. With other's though... I'd rather get fast food or eat out. The grill is fine... paper plates for the win.

Considering the necessity to eat every day, I appreciate taking some time to cook nearly every day. Actually those are nice moments, the more when one gets to know better how to procede efficiently with fresh ingredients. So, yes, I like cooking.
