Does this bar have any hope or time to pull the plug and save the misery?

i was there last Saturday , where i live it was labour day weekend so typically the last busy weekend of summer and bars downtown are normally kind of busy.

but not this night , the manager didn't even bother to post anything online saying the bar was even open or doing anything , they didn't even schedule any live music for Friday or Saturday nights

so of course once it was like 10 pm it started to become pretty clear no one was really showing up. i was in the outdoor patio section and was 4 bartenders there and like only 1 table with customers. there was like maybe 30 or 40 people in the indoor area and another outdoor patio ( roof ) had no one either and those 2 bartenders got sent home , the 4 working the outdoor area also got sent home by 12 pm

so the manager sent home 6 bartenders on a Saturday night on a long weekend on a night that would typically be busy

now its fall and bar scene typically really slow to non existent here , it seems like the bar there is doomed. one of my guy friends commented that they need to get rid of her and find someone new. i said that she needs to except some responsibility for place being empty after she didn't do anything to promote night or schedule live music. at which point she looked really angry and i left

i'm worried cause last year i talked to one of the servers and she told me there was " a lot " of really quiet/dead nights last year around this time and into winter. so does seem like it might be that way again without major changes

3 dead nights in a row ( Tuesday, Wednesday , Thursday ) is there any night anyone actually comes in anymore? i doubt it will even be busy this Friday as its raining here and patio will be closed too. true many successful bars aren't even busy or open mid week but still seems like place needs a major revamp and new management

You said 30 customers so it is doing fine.

They can mention on the website "open" but no need to hire live music.

fine but it was a long weekend , typically be busier , its like the manager was ok with it being half busy as long as she got her pay cheque but didn't try for a busy long weekend

but they also started out night with 9 bartenders , for 30 customers that is almost 1 bartender for 3 customers , kind of a crazy ratio isn't it?

according to google a normal ratio is 1 bartender for 75 customers. so in theory they started out night with enough bartenders for 675 customers. but maybe had 50 or 60 people pass through that night

something about this bar doesn't make sense that night? like they were expecting it be way busier if they felt they needed 9 bartenders yet didn't advertise night or even bring in live music

i just checked google live its currently saying its pretty much empty like smallest bar possible for a restaurant/bar. so apparently no one goes there at all some nights , which is what the one server told me last year that she had been there on many nights like this when it was pretty much empty

so owner is pretty much paying to keep the lights on some nights , there isn't even any customers at all

i found other plans for Friday night so won't be going there this week and to be honest not really at all interested in going back any time soon

i checked google live again tonight to see if Wednesday is any different , saying same thing absolutely dead and empty , lowest bar possible less busy than usual

so no one comes here Tuesday or Wednesday nights

but i know of another restaurant that is packed on Wednesday cause its there " wing night " but this place doesn't even have a wing night and allows business to go elsewhere

how long can this possibly continue before owner goes broke? he is paying to keep the lights on and has a wacko manager who doesn't even care that place is empty nearly every night of the week

according to google live is pretty much no one there and its Saturday night at 9pm , you think there'd be some people at a pub/bar downtown but apparently not. perhaps some come in later but even that isn't a sure thing when its that slow

it seems like the nightlife just died at this place , like seriously it seems over and dead

i wonder if they have anything at all planned for the fall > winter , last year they didn't do any live music from Sep through early Dec and place like empty most nights

only night that might be busy is Thanksgiving and that is only 1 weekend in Oct
