For someone who claims to be an educator, you're really not that good at your job. Republicans have been voting to open the government. From what I've looked up, the most recent vote was 54-44. It takes 60 votes to open the government, so more Republicans would have to defect than Democrats. This is all on the Democrats.

Something else worth noting is that when Obama was president and Republicans were the minority, they were "the Party of 'No'" (which is weird because the Democrats had more trouble getting their own to cooperate, but whatever) and nothing got done. Now the Democrats are in the minority and they are the ones stopping anything from getting done. So which is it? Was it the Democrats' fault then or is it their fault now? Were they lying then or are they lying now?

Plus, I wouldn't consider Democrat wins in Democrat strongholds to be that big of a victory.

Trump said that last night was a major blow to Republicans however took it as a compliment that the media said he was to blame for the swings to The Left.
60% in Pennsylvania for each Liberal Justice for next 10 years on their bench, Mamdani winning even though Trump endorsed Cuomo and Eric Adams (the guy who was saved by Trump’s DOJ) endorsed Cuomo too, Virginia Governor winning by big points and New Jersey, California Districts Initiative Passed, and more.

I will say that Trump wasn’t the only factor, Democrats actually selected leaders who could pull their own weight in a race rather than “I’m not Trump or Republican, please love me”. When you have an actual platform of affordability, working class, and being able to tap into the main demographics you need to win your race then you win. Democrats need to learn this is how you win and continue, it isn’t simple as “Trump is bad”. You need actual policy and plans people can vibe with.

@drpepper12 and I loved the fact Mamdani won without endorsements because it shows policy can and will carry you to the finish line. Obviously his outward appearance or background didn’t help since it led to smear campaigns against him for being a “Jihadist”(for being Muslim). Mamdani held his ground with policy and a strong campaign, I wish future Democrats and Republicans understood that.

It has nothing to do with that. People voted blue in blue sections of red states. They voted blue in last year's presidential election. They voted blue when Biden was president, when Trump was president the first time, and Obama, and Bush. There's no difference here than any other time.

I'm looking forward to January and February when voters are going to be expecting all their “free stuff” from Mamdani and he won't be able to give it to them. What he's promised them is illegal in most instances, but mostly he won't be able to do it because there's no money available for it, and the remaining millionaires and billionaires will be gone from the city by the time he takes office, so there will be an even more severe cut to the tax base.

If you thought you've seen rioting before in this country, they're going to destroy that city.

Nothing has changed about the shutdown. Every vote: 56 votes to keep government open, 53 Republicans and 3 Democrats; 44 votes to shutdown government, 42 Democrats and 2 Independents who always sued with the Democrats.

@DrPepper12 The House already voted not to shutdown. The REAL TRUTH is that Democrat Senators voted to shutdown. The Republicans were willing to negotiate health premiums, and still are, when government is not shutdown. Problem now is that the Democrats have lost 30+ days that they could have been negotiating.

The Dems can end the shutdown simply by voting yes for the CLEAN CR. the same one they have voted for in the past.
The republicans can also end it by using the nuclear option. The republicans don’t want to do that.
