Do you like a biscuit or two with your cup of tea/coffee?

In the UK, it's common to serve a selection of biscuits with a hot drink. Often, these are the dipping type, but any are welcome (and expected). At the very least, there should be one perched upon the saucer, ideally something nice like a hobnob or a piece of shortcake, nothing crappy like oreo.

We eat a tiny bowl of roasted or fried snacks and a few baked cookies with tea.  Sometimes salted idli  or dhokla  without any sauce because there is a tea with it

It's not a custom I see around me, the custom is about just a coffee and a good talk at friends place. If it's a bar we're going for instead of homes, it's likely some tiny biscuit will appear with the coffee order, sometimes a square of chocolate, sometimes a candy. I don't really mind their presence or their absence :)

Recently, I have enjoyed almond biscotti with a thin layer of dark chocolate on the underside for many of my mornings.

Just yesterday in deference to my late grandmother and the upcoming Christmas holidays, I bought a large tin of Walkers. Eat with caution though as 2 cookies are equivalent to 30% of your daily saturated fat intake.

I used to go to my grandmother's flat for a cup of tea and rich tea biscuits, I still go for them now here and there. I also like ginger nuts, milk chocolate digestives and jam dodgers. Anything goes! 😁
