The late , great Paul Harvey used to say that potatoes are our most misunderstood friend. They have lots of vitamin C and complex carbohydrates.
I've rarely met a potato I didn't like.
Of your list, I'd take baked, cause most restaurants don't offer them, and they take an hour to bake at home. Sometimes my oven is full with something else, diff temp.
Second pick: Roasted. (Jamie Oliver says to par boil, then roast them, and he's right. It's a two-step process.)
I'm half German. "We survived on poatoes," my mother used to say. You can take the girl out of the potato, but you can't take the potato out of the girl.13 Reply- 30 d
I stab it with a fork before putting it in the microwave. My gas grill has a rack in the lid that I put the baked potatoes on and by the time the steaks are cooked the potato skins are nice and crispy.
I have a Weber Genesis that is 30 years old. I just replaced the burner and all the other mechanical parts. It is amazing but you can still get parts for it.
@AmandaYVR its good to hear from you again.

Our go to way is to cram them in a dish and half fill with stock then bung in the oven. The top goes crispy and the bottom soaks up the stock. You can chuck what ever you fancy into the mix.

Roasted is my least favorite.
But I love mashed potatoes with gravy or butter, salt and pepper.
A baked potato with butter, sour cream, salt, pepper, bacon, cheddar cheese and chives can be a delicious meal in itself.
And, of course, I love fries.00 Reply

AskPotatoes are indeed versatile and nutritious! I love them roasted with rosemary and garlic, bringing out their natural flavors. There's something magical about their crispy exterior and fluffy interior. One of my fondest memories is enjoying a plate of patatas bravas in Spain’s bustling streets, where the spicy tomato sauce added a delightful kick. Exploring potato dishes worldwide reveals a spectrum of tastes and textures, from creamy mashed potatoes to crisp French fries. 🥔✨

I LOVE good french fries BUT. . . I fillow a low carb diet and I almost never eat potatoes. Last night, I was celebrating with friends at Longhorn Steakhouse and someone ordered loaded fries as an appetizer, so I ate one french fry. Might fine!
10 Reply That's one of the best things about potatoes is all the different types you can have and cook and make and make with them I like every type of potato because they go with just about anything and everything and I am a meat and potato guy but you can do anything and everything with potatoes and make it good

Baked would be my most favorite followed very closely by mashed and hashbrowns at breakfast. I don't want to forget those morning fried potatoes with onion which go great with some bacon and eggs or eggs benedict which are a fave of mine.
