If you mean letting someone try my food, then I'm fine with it.

If you mean sharing as in a bunch of people order a number of dishes, then share them all, then NO!

Sorry for shouting, but I truly hate doing that so much. There's always a dish or two you don't like, the one you like best gets cleaned out before you get a chance to take a second serving, plates are getting passed back and forth and getting cold while people are trying to get a bit of everything, and all these issues.

I put up with it because it'd be too socially awkward to refuse to eat with people if we go to a place where that's done. :D But I don't like it at all.

In Chinese culture, everybody has their own chopsticks and grabs food from a bunch of middle plates which are shared by the entire family, buffet style and I remember I once hung out with a church friend who refused to eat in this manner saying he thought it was unhygienic and I was offended. It was me and him and another girl eating at Montanas and we had their individual sized person per person meals as opposed to the family gathering style meals I usually do with my friends where we order a handful of collected dishes and each grabs what they want out of the compilation.

Personally, I don't have an issue wish sharing food. In fact, I usually order something that's easy to share and pick at together... Especially on a first date... It's cute and romantic, you know? You don't want to be scarfing down a "challenge size" steak instead of getting to know the person in front of you. If I'm with family and friends we tend to order family-style unless one member of the crew is "anti sharing" like...
