I recently saw an Instagram post where some European was complaining that they'd never seen so many fast food places per square mile and so much food preservatives.

First of all, American food isn't just fast food, and no one's forcing you to eat it. Secondly, yes, we use a lot of preservatives because many Americans have to drive far to buy groceries, so they will maybe go at most once a week, so we need to put preservatives in our food so it doesn't spoil quickly. But people are missing the bigger picture, in that health doesn't necessarily equate to taste.

And on the flip side, I also recently saw a post from some FRENCH of all people, who ranked the USA number 1 for food and said their favorite thing about the US was the food, because of the wide variety. This is what me and my dad have been saying too.

If you're in the mood for Curry, you can get it. If you're in the mood for a shwarma, you can get it. If you're in the mood for Chow Mein, Jerk Chicken or Tacos al Pastor, you can get those too. And if you want something more traditional like a fat juicy steak or Southern style BBQ, we have that too. Name me another country where you can get such a wide range of cuisines from around the world.

Especially as a tourist, you won't become a fatass from dining on our food for a couple weeks.

Also, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I've found from my personal experience, that more often than not, the American versions of ethnic foods are much better than the originals. Also, our portions here are so large.
