I'm fed up with US food like McDonalds, KFC, Burger king, frozen pizza like big one etc. It's junk food and it tastes worse after you've eaten properly gourmet food several time. But I still likes soda like Coca cola etc.
Homemade hamburgers and other US food on properly restaurants however tastes good and is nice to eat if made properly.
I hasn't tasted so much other American food. But I've tasted taco which is Mexican. That's nice sometimes, but I don't eat it too often since I can easily get fed up.
Weirdly enough Tex-Mex is probably THE style of food most uniquely American because it was brought forth from Mexican food, right here in the US. And no, many Mexicans disdain or at least don't recognize Tex-Mex so it isn't "basically Mexican". So unlike the oft cited hamburger, the taco bowl didn't originate elsewhere.
Ikr that's why I recommend foreigners to ditch Hollywood and come down to the south where you'll taste real American food. Freshly made. I had a buddy come from England to Tennessee and as a welcome party we cooked some southern BBQ, pot roast, mashed potatoes with gravy, handmade biscuits, grilled corn on the cob, and to top it off for dessert angel food cake with cut strawberries and chocolate on top. He told us that it was the "most American" meal he's ever eaten 😂😂.
My definition is McDonald's and KFC but apparently I can't use them other then that I never had American food
We eat stuff like that where I live, we also have quite a few American diners. Some of the foods nice.

what would you call American food? Because everything you eat in America is available in other countries. But in Jamaica most of our food is indigenous. Unless you have Jamaicans prepare these meals they won't be prepared properly 😂, trust me! So I guess Jamaican cuisine can be called jamiacan food... but American food... not so much
McDonalds and KFC are like the worst possible example of American food I can think of. I'm kind of embarrassed for America that those are what we offer the rest of the world.
A Japanese friend of mine isn't the biggest fan of hamburgers but loves steaks, ribs and fries.
Not a big fan to be honest. I feel like it's too heavy but at the same time most dishes don't really feel like a meal. I wouldn't consider burger or steak with fries a full meal (don't really know why that is...)
Australian here and all I know about American food is that the industry is extremely corrupt as it is in every world but practically everything is full of sugar
"American food" to be just seems like other food but bigger haha. Also what is the obsession with deep frying things?

I often heard the same that chicken meat is soft and fishes are not fresh on sale.
American food is hard to describe. but as a foreigner I love Tex Mex :)

I think it tastes good but very unhealthy, the American diet is way too risky to actually follow you won't last long if you keep eating like that
