How do you like the patty? What toppings do you add?

I like it cooked medium. I guess Iām used to a more standard patty, but Iām not averse to a smash burger.
A good bun is key. Not really sure how to describe it, but I think you know it when you have it.
For toppings, pretty basic: lettuce (arugula if weāre getting fancy), tomato, raw onion, and pickles. And bacon if Iām feeling like a fat kid.
Condiments: NEVER. I hit it raw dog, a good burger needs no help.
You ever hear of a place called Louisā Lunch in New Haven, CT, near Yale? That a REAL barebones burger that they let mostly speak for itself. They literally kick you out if you ask for ketchup, lmao

Also in Connecticut, which weirdly has next to nothing happening but somehow has good pizza and burgers, thereās also another place called Tedās that STEAMS the burgers and the cheese. That place is really good too. Sounds weird, and even looks a little strange, but itās excellent.
Used to travel there for work, I miss those spotsā¦
I almost forgot a crucial ingredient; the cheese. Cheese brings it altogether. I accidentally ordered a hamburger instead of a cheeseburger not too long ago, and I was like āwhatās missing here?ā, and when I realized it, it all made sense. So cheese is a must, ideally cheddar, but American is fine, and Iām sure a bunch of other normal sliced cheeses would work just fine. I donāt really care for stuff like bleu cheese, more of a dressing, really.
General rule: I want a standard cheeseburger or bacon cheeseburger. I donāt like when we try to make zany variations on basic-but-excellent concepts. I donāt want the bleu cheese burger, I donāt want the ranch burger, I donāt want the BBQ sauce and onion rings on it, I DAMN SURE donāt want like fried egg and avocado on it, or some weird shit like that. JUST a burger and a standard setup.
Haha, oh you live in In-N-Out country? Incoming blasphemy, but: I think I need to give In-N-Out another try, I was underwhelmed the time I had it. I think the way I heard it built up by West Coasters, I was expecting āNOT fast foodā, but then I was just like āoh, so itās like McDonaldās but just supposedly better?ā, and Iām just kind of put off by fast food in general, I donāt really trust it. I got Animal Style because it sounded cool, but I never really knew what it was, and didnāt notice any obvious differenceš
It was āaight.ā If I did it again, Iād eat it on the spot, I think I had to drive 5-10 minutes from my hotel. Probably better fresh out of the kitchen.
I still wonder what became of the poor little Mexican girl, all of like 105 lbs, standing outside taking orders in the drive-through line, on a Saturday night in Inglewood. Correct me if Iām wrong, but isnāt Inglewood always up to no good? I heard that in a song onceš¤ā¦..
@Dongie If you were looking for an essay on the finer points of the cheeseburger, you came to the right place, lmfao
@Dongie A few hundred isn't an exaggeration.
@7Phoenix7 If they screw up and give it to me with cheese on it I always send it back. If they just scrape that crap off it I tell them I could have done that, I want a new one. If it happens again I never go back.
Exactly how mcdonalds serves em. I want I want high fructose fucking pickles, I want only one to actually be in the burger, and though it's the smallest pickle you've ever seen, I still want that bitch to be thicker than the fuckin burger patty. I want the bread to have not only sugar but seed oils in it. I wanna wake up aching from the trans fat. I want the sodium for one fucking burger to be 80% of my total daily recommended intake. I wanna wake up with all the water I drank the day prior just sitting all up in my face so that I don't even rehydrate. And lastly, I want the price of the burger to be over 2 times the cost of what it would be to make the same burger at home with store bought ingredients. Because we all know how exceptional & quality mcdonalds service is & they deserve to make more because of it.
@Nikki1989 I think heās being facetiousš
@Nikki1989 I've never had a mcdonalds burger fail to not satisfy me
Depends whoās making it. A good homemade burger like my mom used to make just needed a little touch of cheese on top and a sliver of tomato under it. Heaven.
Other places the meat is good quality but itās not spiced, so it needs mustard and the works to be tasty.
People always laugh at me because I just like cheese and a little ketchup on mine. One time the guy working at an excellent burger place where I live told me he wasn't even gonna take my order lol "just go home and make a cheeseburger! You're boring"!
I adore a burger with a juicy, medium-rare patty that has a nice char on the outside. It's all about savoring that umami goodness! As for toppings, I love to keep it classic yet flavorful - crispy bacon, sharp cheddar, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato slices, and a bit of creamy avocado for a touch of richness. A drizzle of smoky barbecue sauce always ties it all together beautifully 🍔🥓.

definitely a real beef (not any plant substitute) I like it medium rare :D with salat, tomato, onion and doubled cheese but the best without the sauce... I most often take it in a separate container and apply as much as I like... :D
Ugh this is torture. I'm studying and have the late-night munchies...
Bottom burger, no cheese, add avocado (or guacamole), add an over easy egg plus jalapeños, and ground mustard. Bacon is a plus but not required.
I do too but can't have itš©
Simple.. If I have a burger I want to be able to eat it with my hands without making a mess. 1-2 patties, cheese, onions, lettuce... That's good enough. Beef or chicken
Sauce yes forgot
I like the meat, cheese... and that's about it. I mean bacon would be nice. I'm really plain when it comes to this shit. I just want meat and fat. Did I mention cheese?
I want to give white steave props... he puts in the work.
Hahaha
@WhiteSteve lol thanks for putting in the work
I make my own burgers out of ground sirloin. I make them extra large, maybe a half a pound of beef. I buy extra large rolls from the local bakery. I cook them on my gas grill. I get the grill hot first, then put the burger on for two minutes and flip it once and cook another two minutes. If I am motivated I will cook a few strips of bacon and I add some lettuce. I also toast and butter the bun.
Sauce free, but I don't eat much burgers I tend to prefer other items on the menu.
I don't like mayonaise based sauses and thats the only thing they usually offer.
Depends on the place. The netheelands has local snackbars that are way better than your branded fastfood chains. In those ill probably order pork or chicken sate if they have it accompanied with fries. But its also possible i want a croquetre on bread with fries or maybe a frikandel with fries. Another goed one is a bami disk with fries (that one is a chinese dish but battered and deepfried).
If its burger king ill get their twisted fries and spicy chicken wings (our burger king is cool like that, I didn't see these internationally).
Mcdonalds I don't like as much so I don't go there unless its the only one around. Thats a place I may actually go for a sauceless burger since their digital ordering screens allow me to take the ingredients out I find gross leaving me with a burger thats decent.
Both those pictures look absolutely revolting and disgusting.
@7Phoenix7
You're absolutely right. š

Peanut butter bacon cheese burger.
Both like heart attacks waiting to happen. Disgusting.
I asked for a burger, ok we hadn't booked a table, and they were very busy. They found us a table, while some friends were being served.
The burger came, and it wasn't cooked inside. OK you can have a steak cooked rare, but not a burger !
So I'd say, I like my burgers well cooked !
In n out animal style extra grilled onions, crispy bun, and peppers. If Iām just craving the meat I will get it animal style/protien style with an extra pattie.
Now I want a burger and animal fries
The Neapolitan shake
Just like In-N-Out's animal-style double-double.
I really like turkey burgers. I put ketchup, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles on it

@exitseven no it's not. That was the joke
@exitseven ššaww. Don't say that

I'll take the burger in the first picture.. 🤤🤤.. That's my type of burger.. I don't like too many veggies on it..

Cooked medium with a toasted sesame seed bun...
Mushrooms and swiss. Or
Bacon lettuce and tomato with ketchup and mustard.
I get mine medium well.
My favorite is a mushroom and Swiss burger.
I also love bacon cheeseburgers.
How ever you like to make them is fine with me, as long as I eat
I like well done with everything. L, T, P, O w/Xtra mayo w/cheese. Buns toasted.
Medium rare, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, Swiss cheese.
At a minimum, medium rare, with lettuce and tomato and ketchup. Add cheese, bacon, onions even better. For a change up, maybe a blue cheese burger, Swiss burger, fizzled onions. BBQ Burger! Yum!
Fully cooked with ketchup, pickles, and onions on a Wonder Bread bun.
I like it around medium. As for toppings... those vary depending on what I'm craving.
My go-to is a truffle burger without tomato/onion/lettuce.
Beef, cheese and bacon on a potato bun
Cooked medium with cheese bacon lettuce and tomato. Definitely no gherkins
Cooked to medium to medium well. Not rare like Chuck Schumer you the senator from New York.
Good thick patty, fried mushrooms and onions with Swiss cheese and bbq sauce
I like my ostrich patty grilled. Add sliced gherkins, lettuce, and tomato and and enclose in a wholewheat bun.
With bacon, Swiss cheese , sauteed mushrooms, and sauteed onions
With everything on it. The sloppier the betterā¦. Juices running down my elbowsā¦.
