What's your go to Chinese food you choose when you order out?

I don't like Chinese food but willing to see if I just have been choosing bad options.

I have a local place about a half mile from my house. it's a local institution. My son worked the front end (phone, orders, register) as a part time high school job. Their food is outstanding and healthy and a great value. They get vegetables perfect every time.

Favorites.

Kung Po Chicken - chicken and veggies with peanuts and hot pepper.

Beef and Broccoli - sliced beef and broccoli florets in a brown sauce.

Moo Shoo Pork - shredded pork and cabbage plus sauce you roll up in a tortilla type pancake with a side of dark sweet tamarind sauce you put on to your taste.

Chow Mein - heavy on veggies with chicken, shrimp, etc. in a thick clear sauce.

Szechuan Shredded Beef - hot and spicy shredded beef and julienned vegetables.

Singapore Mei Fun - Think Chinese spaghetti with shrimp, beef, chicken, and pork, and a smoky flavor/smell. Very light on sauce.

Wonton Soup - basically a classic salty dumpling soup Chinese style.

Hot and Sour Soup - A Chinese specific spicy dark broth with shredded pork.

Egg Rolls - What can I say, a wonton wrapper encasing cabbage, shredded pork, and spices rolled up and fried like little burritos. What's not to like.

Don't knock Chinese food until you've had good Chinese cuisine. Like I said, best vegetables I've ever had.

Often just a simple fried duck or pork with rice and vegetables.

Depends if it’s American Chinese or authentic Chinese.
1. American Chinese - don’t like. If I must…egg foo young. Friend rice. Eggplant in light sauce. Beef broccoli.
2. Cantonese Chinese - roasted duck/chicked… or meat by the window they hung. Wonton noodle soup. Dim sum, Congee, lobster in ginger scallions, And a few other dishes.
3. norther mala spicy Si Chuan - hot pot, spicy wonton, dumplings. Noodle…etc.

Chicken with steamed white rice. Sometimes with broccoli. I’m not fond of the brown sauces that usually come with those meals. I prefer plain.

i don't want my protein to be sweet, a seafood or a bag of frozen vegetables on rice some loose eggs that look like snake vagina skin sheds left inside your food.

Yeah I agree. Some are just tolerable but the rest I don't like.

I like the fish maw soup, the egg corn soup, the jelly fish salad, the taro bubble tea, the eggplant with pork, the deep fried shredded potatoes, the green pea noodles, and the sweet corn pancakes.

The one near me doesn't have a lot of those options you mentioned.

If I am ordering from a place for the first time I will choose something very basic, like Almond Chicken or such. I figure if they can't get the cliche stuff right they probably won't do very well on the more complicated items. After that, if it is good, I will branch out and try other things.
