Do you like eating at Cracker Barrel?

Liberals make fun of people that eat at Cracker Barrel. Apparently is as all rednecks that eat there. There are no Cracker Barrel restaurants within 60 miles of my house. I have never even seen one. However the menu was interesting. Country Fried Pickles caught my eye. However they had entrees like Sirloin Steak and Fried Shrimp, Sirloin Steak and Fried Chicken, Pot Roast, Meat Loaf, US Farm Raised Catfish, and Chicken Fried Chicken.

I use to like the cracker barrel. Sadly I had a negative experience last time I went. I was eating their with a female friend. I was wearing a crop top with a long skirt and my penticle necklace. My friend has short hair, and was wearing cargo pants with a tank top and a pride piece sign necklace.

This wasn't a date or anything we were just friends, but we do get flirty at times. Well we were just sitting at a table minding our own business when an older women comes marching over. She looks at us dead in the eyes and says something like "I know this satanic degeneracy seems fun now, but it will lead you to an awful place." She then left a bible track and went back to eat with her husband.

I'm a lot more use to this kinda stuff now, but at the time it was hard. I've never been to a cracker barrel since. I know it's not the restaurant's fault, the staff was super nice and everything, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Plus I don't even know where any of them are anymore I've moved since then lol

I was fortunate enough to experience eating there all the time when I lived in East Tennessee. There was one on the same block were I worked.
It has a very cozy atmosphere. A huge fireplace with a hearth and rocking chairs in front of the nicely lit fire. 🔥

The food was great! 👍 If you order breakfast they automatically serve grits with it. I usually ate breakfast there, even for dinner.

They have a quaint little built in store in the restaurant and you can buy all sorts of country things including candy, taffy, fudge, etc.

The service was great 👍

I went once when I was away on business, and there was a Cracker Barrel in the same lot as my hotel. It was fine. I wasn’t really impressed by the menu, so just got pancakes and bacon. It was fine, but that’s easy to make. I think they must not have had burgers available, that’s what I would’ve gotten. It was dinnertime.

I don’t think I’m into bland “country” cooking, for the most part. Chicken Fried Steak, that sort of thing…. not really for me.

It all seemed like it was set up to try to sell you overpriced “Americana” stuff in the gift shop, to be honest. The food was adequate, and I think I remember the service being pretty good.

Jennifer Welch was spot on though. You need to be there, and not enjoying the benefits of the diversity of culture in our country, and stay in their own lane if they desire a Cracker Barrel-esque population and government.

During covid when we had food shortages in the supermarket I was able to order those metal containers of GOYA crackers from Amazon. They were a little pricy but were good.

Hopefully you found a canister that wasn’t dinged up to the bejeezus. Those things get dented pretty badly and get tough to stack. Had to reset full sections of the international aisle at an old job, along with people from Goya and other companies. I always got stuck with those dented saltines, it seemed. And those religious candles with the saints on them, those were the worst 😵🔫

Used to eat there when I still lived in South Texas. I wouldn't say often, but enough. Sundays was hella packed after the churches let out for the morning so you could forget anything less than an hour wait time. My favorite meal was the chicken and dumplings tbh.

On summer vacations driving all over the Eastern seaboard and Midwest, my family of origin would run into Cracker Barrels right off whatever interstate we drove on.

They are equivalent to IHOPs and any other moderately mediocre semi-restaurant. Probably similar to Bucky's, which is all the rage now.

You can buy just about anything you'd need for a road trip at a Cracker Barrel, or you can sit down and have a meal. The only place they exist is "on the road," or alongside one. They're never situated IN a city because there's too much competition from other better places people have access to.

They were emergency places: You needed a bathroom and there were no roadside parks. You were tired of the road food you'd been cooking for breakfast or lunch. You wanted to walk around a little store and maybe get a tchotchke that was representative of whatever state you were in.

Not highbrow, but OK for tired travelers between destinations.

I've never seen one. Thought it was for sweaty black people, and the majority where I live are Mexican and south of that originally. Did hear they just changed their logos and stuff, which made their stock fall off a cliff.

My older cousins used to love Cracker Barrel, and I often took them to dinner there. They have since died, and I haven't set foot in a Cracker Barrel in a few years. Last time was when my wife and I were on a road trip during the pandemic; we stopped at a Cracker Barrel for lunch because it was one of the few restaurants open.

Let's make crappy food political, why don't you? The menu might appeal to you, but obviously if you haven't eaten there, you can't give an opinion on the food. Well I've given them a few chances, and their food is damn poor.

Nothing is fresh except most of the salad. Everything is made from pre-fab ingredients, and it tastes like your school lunch used to taste. Some folks rave about the fried chicken, but with so many other restaurants or take-out joints making great fried chicken, why bother with CB?

If you can't live without eating at a chain restaurant, you'll do better at an Applebees, Red Robin, Texas Roadhouse or a Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen.

I have fond memories of eating there a lot with my family when I was a kid, and I still like it. Well, not anymore I guess. The atmosphere was charming and, along with the logo, gave it the old country store feel they were obviously going for, which I liked. The new generic looking logo and interior decor look awful to me. It feels to me like what the younger female CEO has done is akin to what Alissa Heinerscheid did with Bud Light. It's not going to end well for Cracker Barrel, just like with Bud Light.

I will vote with my wallet just like I did with Gillette and Bud Light.

it's okay. me and my husband mainly only stop there on road trips. i don't agree with the rebranding, renovations, or logo change they did. it looks very stupid

also, eating at a restaurant or liking a restaurant does not dictate how you voted

I am not a "red-neck", but Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite places to go when I do not feel like cooking. Their macaroni & cheese is to die for, the cornbread is just about the best around (and I can eat as much cornbread as I want) and even though their fried apples are "technically" a side dish, I eat them for dessert (and I think it just might be the best dessert on Earth).

I used to enjoy stopping by a Cracker Barrel every once in a while. But the quality has dropped and the menu became too big. They should have stuck with simple hardy comfort food. You just cannot be everything to everybody.
