How would you describe the taste of water?

Let's say to an alien that's curious but scared to taste water cause they don't need it, i think one can argue that water has a taste, it's just an unexplainable taste cause there's nothing to really compare or too, it's not bitter or sour or salty or sweet, the best way to describe it is that it numbs your tongue without actually numbing it, a numbless numbness.

So it's not surprising water is colorless, odorless and tasteless.

But saying that my tap water has a fruity taste, and this is because fruit juice is added to the water.

It wouldn't matter what you said the alien's sense of taste would probably be different than yours anyway. It's not very likely it could sense things the way a human would.

My cats all refused the sparkletts water 5 gallon bottles you can buy. I hit up the local water filtration store with my bottles to try it. My cats literally smelled the air when I came home, circled the water bowl and drained it. I was shocked. And felt so bad. Not sure what sparkletts is doing but it must be bad. Now I can compare myself it had a mechanical taste to it.

It depends on the water, distilled, de ionized, really have no taste, some water has a Sulphur taste, others kind of an iron taste. It can be all different.
