Is there a certain food you won't eat if it's missing a nonessential ingredient?

For example, my favorite snack is an occasional PB&J sandwich, with a glass of milk but if I don't have milk, I won't eat it. Same as steak, if there aren't any onions to fry and put over the steak, I won't make it. Growing up, my brother wouldn't have any type of sandwich without cheese. Are any of you similar when it comes to eating?
