Do you have any true old-school restaurants, bars or coffee shops in your town?

There is a bar that I occasionally go to. It is much the same as when I first went there to play pool in the mid 70s. They did finally get new bar stools though. The jukebox is controlled by a phone app now. The atmosphere is exactly the same though. It wouldn't surprise me it the pool tables are the same ones. That bar was around long before I was old enough to go there.
There is a restaurant that I sometimes go to that is the same inside as it was in the 60s when I went there. The outside no longer has carhop service though. However there are still a few places around with carhops.
What we used to call coffee shops were actually restaurants or diners. There was no such thing as strictly coffee shops like Starbucks back then. Those didn't get popular until the 80s, and especially the 90s. The old style coffee shops are still around.
Sure, but they are gradually disappearing.
Yep, its been around since 1932 and still going strong. Still running under the same family that started the restaurant. Sure the original building is gone, but same great food.
Everytime I go back to my birthplace hometown. We stop there
We have plenty… especially in Hollywood. They really hold onto that old-school vibe out here… tourists get a taste of it, but we’ve been living it for years.

There are some old-school joints scattered here and there around my area.
Some are pretty good, but others really aren't, seeming to be able to stay in business simply due to the habits of longtime regular patrons who haven't ventured outside of their routines over the past decades.
I'm mildly amused when thinking of the latter type.
Our little local store hasn't changed much over the years except for the price of gas.
Yes. The Red Dog Saloon silver dollar Queen actually there's a whole city of old restaurants bars still has the boardwalk that it used to have way back when still the old buildings
I was going to send you some pictures but I can't get it to work right but if you look up Virginia City you'll see the whole town is just an old town the way it was way back in the 1800s 1900 2000s you can even dress up in old saloon girl clothes the guys poker clothes and have your picture taken LOL or you can even get married at the silver dollar Queen I did that but the best thing to do there is Virginia City Grand Prix desert race dirt bikes are the camel races or the chili kickoff or ride the train it's basically a tour trap right now but it is cool to go to my cousin but a saloon up there called the Red Dog Saloon it's pretty cool
A cinema. No 3-D, no actual movies only special movies, the fee to rent and show ia cheaper than blockbuster. Old old chairs. Very special atmosphere.
Nope. They have all folded because they were bought up by people who had to redo them - make them "relevant"- make them "modern". So they collapsed under their own weight (of expenses lack of followers, etc).
There might be a couple of old school restaurants left but definitely not coffee shops.
Not so much old school as we haven't quite caught up with the rest of the world yet.
@nikki1989
thanks for inviting me but I don’t know of any old restaurants around here.
In Boston we have a 100+ year old Italian restaurant where if anyone has ever seen the movie the Godfather has an old school bathroom toilet with the chains
There are still a few of those places around this little town where I live.
Yes, but old school here in Europe is REALLY old school, not like in the USA. LOL
There are so many, there are even 100-year-old coffee shops.
