Does anyone still go out to bars on weeknights anymore, or is that over?

i noticed this restaurant/bar that i go to was doing bar nights on Wednesday and Saturday this summer , i never go out Wednesday so don't know what went on at them but i noticed on there social media this week there was nothing about the Wednesday bar night and seems like any mention of it had disappeared from there page and dj's page only doing Saturday now

how badly attended must the Wednesday thing have been for it to have been cancelled mid June before the actual summer even started , like did no one come out at all? that place has really $ high drink prices so does not surprise me younger people didn't really come out like they want $12 before tax and tip for a corona type beer and thinking a shot of liquor must be close to $10 as well so not a cheap bar to party at

I try to do one night a week out at a bar with friends as part of my effort to force myself to socialize, LOL. They say it's good for me to interact with other people. 🤣

There are a few places near me that all do daily Happy Hour 3-6 PM. I do Wednesdays occasionally. I, do Thursdays once in a while. And that has changed over time. But mostly I try to fit it in on Fridays. It just seems like a fitting end to the week and a beginning of the weekend. But Wednesdays and Thursdays are packed too. They have their midweek crowd.

Some of the people I hang out with do a Wed/Fri routine. Another group does a Thu/Fri routine. But I can't (won't) do that to my body more than once a week. So I'll try to clear my calendar Friday afternoons and hang out maybe 3-8PM, drinks, dinner, flirting, and if possible a conversation deeper than the weather and sports.

In contrast to what you've seen, the places I hang out have a pretty good Happy Hour that's half price on all drinks, even top shelf stuff. And the crowd is skewed toward fairly wealthy people 30+ who don't really care about a $15 glass of wine after Happy Hour ends or a $150 solo tab with food for the evening.

There's a massive bar culture around here, that won't stop. Well it stopped during the corona lockdowns, but then they got invaded again. Week days or not.

Bars are dying out in the UK because of culture change. The days of going for a liquid lunch then popping in again with workmates before going home are long gone. The ones that are doing well are serving food all day/night or are in touristy areas

They don't around here. However, come the weekend, the local hangouts are really happening.

well yeah weekend bars are still busy but years ago people used to go out on weeknights like when i was in college around 2005-7 ish there were bars you could go to on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and were busy most of the time

if you were to go to that city now none of those bar nights exist anymore even if the bar itself is still open , the one that used to to Tuesday gave up on it long ago , the one that did Wednesday closed around 2012 i think

this bar night would of been for restaurant and resort works who live nearby and want to do stuff after work but seems night was off and prices way too high

not the same bar i always talk about , a different place in another nearby tourist town , the one in hometown used to do kareokee on Wednesday night years ago but stopped before before covid or so
