Do you trust street/fair food?

Overall yep, because they have to comply with the same hygiene regulation, like restaurants. And if the legal aspect wasn't enough, I trust a business to not want to lose its customer base over hygiene issues.

One shady case would be those small places focusing more on laundry money than food though, them I wouldn't trust about hygiene, or customers in general lol

I'm not too worried about it and I never had a problem.
I've eaten street food lots of times - hot dogs from street vendors are usually much better that those from AMPM or 7Eleven.
I have had amazing food from food trucks - Mexican food, falafels and gyros, Cuban. One had Mexican/Korean fusion.

Depends on the location more than anything. In the US, mostly yes. Mexico, as well. I’ve never been to India and probably never will but no way in hell would I ever try their street food. Same with China or any other East/Southeast Asian country.

Street and fair food can be both safe and amazing, but it depends on basic hygiene. I trust it when I see hot food kept steaming, meat cooked to order, clean hands or gloves, and high turnover so nothing sits too long.

In Tokyo or Naples, I’ve had unforgettable street bites that felt totally safe. Trust your eyes and nose, not just the price or the crowd. 😋🌮

Food Trucks are my thing & when it comes to food trucks you’ll be surprised how good some of the food from those trucks can be. As for street food for the most part I trust it & surprisingly most of them are cleaner than restaurants.

A few months back I did a study on what our foods are made of and it would make you throw up

I cannot believe that they are letting the EPA get away with this and allowing food pesticides chemicals to be mixed in with our food generic food

But I've had bad experiences in the first world with street food and great experiences in the third world, so either way I give it a go.

I generally avoid dirty burger vans parked in carparks but ones on industrial estates are ok, because they'd get flipped over if the food was dodgy.

It's the ones that are so expensive you might as well sit in a restaurant that i don't get.

At registered fairs there are usually health standards and codes that fair participants have to follow. General street food vendors may get away with more, is what I'd guess.

So fair food esp. for state fairs, monthly fairs in major cities, farmer's markets are usually quite safe.

Lol your face screams uptight personality, so this is a really fitting take for you. No shade... everyone has their preferences and different comfort levels... but mam... if you're afraid to eat street food (which is usually the best food), just stay in your house and play with your cat, because anything you do in life has a risk.

Driving... someone can hit you and kill you and it could be entirely their fault and out of your control.

Walking down stairs... you can slip and fall and get seriously injured

Walking under a coconut tree... more people die from coconuts falling on their heads than people who die from shark attacks per year.

And I can list 1000 other things, but you get it. My advice... Stop being fearful of everything and live your life. It's not that serious.

I feel like you're a rule follower and afraid to break the rules in any way. Who knows... maybe if you break a few rules here and there, it might be liberating for you

I assume these vendors need certificates from the Dept of Health to operate and have to have them visibly displayed. If they don't have it, then my answer is no.

is barely even any hot dog vendors left here , one closed down suddenly this year and another lost long time location due to road construction , is a couple food trucks that do other things like thai and buritos

Not since they got rid of permits and inspections. Now I will only have it from vendors I know or carts associated with top chefs where I know they keep the standards up.
