Do you trust street/fair food?

I'm not too worried about it and I never had a problem.
I've eaten street food lots of times - hot dogs from street vendors are usually much better that those from AMPM or 7Eleven.
I have had amazing food from food trucks - Mexican food, falafels and gyros, Cuban. One had Mexican/Korean fusion.
I always think about hygiene standards at such small food stands. Especially cold food like salads or ice.
Lol your face screams uptight personality, so this is a really fitting take for you. No shade... everyone has their preferences and different comfort levels... but mam... if you're afraid to eat street food (which is usually the best food), just stay in your house and play with your cat, because anything you do in life has a risk.
Driving... someone can hit you and kill you and it could be entirely their fault and out of your control.
Walking down stairs... you can slip and fall and get seriously injured
Walking under a coconut tree... more people die from coconuts falling on their heads than people who die from shark attacks per year.
And I can list 1000 other things, but you get it. My advice... Stop being fearful of everything and live your life. It's not that serious.
I feel like you're a rule follower and afraid to break the rules in any way. Who knows... maybe if you break a few rules here and there, it might be liberating for you
is barely even any hot dog vendors left here , one closed down suddenly this year and another lost long time location due to road construction , is a couple food trucks that do other things like thai and buritos
I generally avoid dirty burger vans parked in carparks but ones on industrial estates are ok, because they'd get flipped over if the food was dodgy.
It's the ones that are so expensive you might as well sit in a restaurant that i don't get.
Yeah! Gimme.
Best fajitas in Mexico are on the street
In a first world country, yes. I just find it a bit expensive at places like the Easter show.
I eat street food regularly. I've got a few regular places near where I live
I try not to think of where it might have came from. I had a hamburger at an MLB game and it had a lot of little pieces of bone in it.
Generally yes, but if it looks bad, smells bad or tastes bad, I don't eat it.
I never consume crp like that in the photo , that's not " food " that's horrendous..
Selected Thai street food of quality = absolutely I will.
Yes. But it depends on what it is. I mostly get skewed meat. Since it looks like meat 😂 and nicely grilled.
@JennaWillow Yes, but not something to eat daily.
At a county fair sure. Some sketchy character with a cart on a street in New York no he's probably some 3rd world illegal.
No, I don't trust them. You look even sweeter than the dessert in your hand—with that half-bewildered look and the bit of cream on your nose. 😄
🍨🍦 same reason I don't take my chances with the ice cream van either - nope ❌🤞🏻
I agree w/ u about contamination but what if a little kid did somethin 2 uncovered food at a store like apples, pears, grapes? We take a possible risk everywhere 4 anythin.
Yes unless I'm travelling in a country with low hygiene standards.
I don’t trust street food, but some street food is really good.
I don't eat it a lot but yeah, it hasn't failed me, but I live in the states
No, who knows how that stuff is prepared? Food hygiene is essential.
Yes, can I have some of your food?
I doubt it'd keep 😬
Ireland 🇮🇪🫡
Fun haha, I hope you haven't had reason to use it
Not always, I have a healthy suspicion of some vendors, but I still indulge from time to time
Generally yes
It depends how hungry I am and the seller is not smoking
I'm always leery.
Nice photo.
Nah, not really.
It depends where I am.
Mostly I would
Only if I shared it with you.
yeah. I'm sure it's up to standards
Nnah
Nope
NO !!!
Just a few
Not really.

Street and fair food can be both safe and amazing, but it depends on basic hygiene. I trust it when I see hot food kept steaming, meat cooked to order, clean hands or gloves, and high turnover so nothing sits too long.
In Tokyo or Naples, I’ve had unforgettable street bites that felt totally safe. Trust your eyes and nose, not just the price or the crowd. 😋🌮
