It's interesting most chefs are male, however the majority of at home cooking is female dominated

Nobody cooks like our mothers and grandmothers, and I think that’s something most of us can get behind. It doesn’t have to be “better” in the literal sense, maybe chefs have better cooking techniques… but it’s years of tradition, family recipes, and cooking with love for their loved ones, spending time together at home. And of course there are some guys who are great cooks too, both at home or professionally just in general. But personally I still think that there’s nothing like a mother’s cooking.

I would say that most women are better cooks than most men, but a man who cooks well is likely better than most women. As you pointed out, most top chefs are men. Also it’s worth noting that the home cooking gap between married or cohabitating men and women has shrunk over the years. However, single women are more likely than single men to prepare meals at home either for themselves or to share with family and friends. This data is often used to misrepresent how much of the cooking is done by women in heterosexual relationships. They love to act like they’re literally living “The Handmaid’s Tale”. Ell oh ell!

Maybe line cooks in big restaurants. Women could do it but they usually don’t want to bother. I was a prep cook at Claim Jumper, it was the biggest busiest restaurant in town at the time. Working in that kitchen was fucking insane. In my 4 years there I never saw a woman line cook last more than a couple days.

Men love meat so the are experts in meat.
Hunting cronies of my dad are experts in sausages, meat curing and meat smoking, They make it few times in year and they are experienced like my dad is experienced in making home made cognac. I'm experienced in lasagne and cheesecake, my dad and his friends can't compete in these two dishes.
I willingly exchange my lasagna and cheesecake for premium booze and premium smoked ham.

I'd say when it comes to high-end restaurants that make fancy food for ridiculous money then men dominate in that space.

But nothing is beating a mom or grandmother's food. So women overall are better.

The margins on high-end restaurants are narrow and volatile. It costs a lot to staff a high-end kitchen and hold onto the staff you need. And there are a 1000 chefs around the corner wanting to take your spot. Work a lifetime as a globally renown chef like Thomas Keller, Ferran Adria, Heston Blumenthal and your lifetime earnings are less than what many NFL players earn in a season.

Depends on what you're talking about. In general it's a wash. I personally cook better than literally any woman I have ever met. But this is because I was taught since I was 8 by my grandfather who was a professional chef.

Now statistically are there more male chefs than female chefs? Yes. Do women these days also refuse to learn to cook? Also yes. So the number of men who learned to cook these days out number the women.. Does it mean that women are better at it or men are better at it? No. It just means the numbers are different.

@MrChinaski Yeah the rats in that movie are a self insert for a certain kind of minority that has existed here since Cromwell invited them in. That movie exists to subvert people into thinking any group of people is just as capable of doing anything as another, and also that you should pursue your dreams of vanity by neglecting your family and duties back at home. It also teaches you that critics are evil & an art/service should never be criticised. That's why it depicted the critical of the movie as effectively a vampire for having high standards and the dumb chef who owned the restaurant died because he was knocked down a star.
Finally it depicts the whispy little bug eyed man as an evil tyrant because he cares about the business, therefore he doesn't want rants running the restaurant and he also doesn't want that low IQ ginger kid that the protagonist himself controls via his hair to inherit the business, even though he is incompetent.
So remember anyone who cares about their business is evil according to this movie.
What a sickening message for a children's movie but we often find it from these Hollywood psychopaths. The restaurant itself is probably a reference to their own Hollywood industry subverting children away from their family so they can groom more people into becoming celebrities.
Before you say "It's not that deep" look up Type2Productions videos on these subversive messages in children's media.
