Is this the most poorly planned country bar night ever?

is a bar here that has been doing an annual country night the last couple of years , the past ones were actually fairly good and well attended so was excited for this years when it occurred last Saturday.

except it turns out manager was preoccupied with a family members wedding so did virtually no promotion or planning for the event , like virtually nothing ZERO , promotion consisted of 1 single story post to instagram not even an actual post. there was nothing even posted inside the bar itself or on sign outside.

the staff were given no decorations or themed outfits for the night , a couple of the girls did a picture post the night of to social media but since they had no cowboy hats it was AI generated with fake ones.

and even worse the manager gave an entire section of outdoor patio for her wedding group and no one else was allowed in the area and get this they specifically requested country music to not be played in there area even though they came out for country night

and to be honest not even sure any actual country music was played the entire night , was this singer doing acoustics but i would not describe him as country and when he was not playing the play list was like modern pop or something not even country.

the one area where people were allowed to go was so packed you could barely move and could not get a drink at the bar , and for a country night seemed to be more men than girls which seemed kind of odd , eventually i left around 12pm and got a snack and went home , so bad only memorable for how horrible it was

they appear to have deleted all reference to it from there social media , wouldn't of even known they did one if you looked at there page , last year they posted some pictures but i don't recall seeing anyone take any so doubt any are coming , the AI generated picture of the girls doesn't seem to come up in stories either so gone too

was talking to one of the servers who works there yesterday , she was not at the country night but did mention they got new playlists for there music system and she didn't think there was a country one which might explain the lack of it.

although even that one does not make sense as how does a bar doing country nights not make sure there getting playlists that have country music on them? someone messed up

i would not be complaining if they had not screwed it up so badly , did not even play much if any country , manager gave an entire section of the bar to a wedding group ( which was related to her personally ) and they did not even want anything to do with the country night , like why even show up at the bar on this night? so weird all around

and 1 single story post to instagram as the promotion , like i'm not even joking that was all, that was it , does anyone think that counts as promotion these days , 1 single story post , its surprising they even got out as many people as they did

i know but last years was actually fairly good so though it be similar and worth the effort but it was not , was another summertime bar ( in a nearby town ) that had a dj group Saturday and was apparently packed , should of went there instead but did not know the country night was going to fail so badly

they've even deleted all reference to it from there instagram page an obvious sign it went badly and they don't want anyone to remember it ever happened , it was that bad , manager too likely trying to cover up her failure and pre occupation with her family wedding and i get that but she should of let someone else plan and run the event if she was pre occupied with the wedding

i know the wedding group should of went somewhere else if they had no interest in country , you don't show up at a bar doing an annual country night and request country music to not be played in your section , just rude and weird all around , was there not any other places open on Saturday they could of went instead?

i'm sure there has been worse but this bar had done successful ones in the past so a surprise it went south so badly , last year it was packed ( not just people from our town but places further away too ) , staff given decor , actual country music played , no sections given to other events , photo's of guests taken for social media
