This bar was packed last Halloween but not even a line up this year?

note i didn't go out to a bar last night just happened to be downtown in this city as i had watched the world series game at a pub down the street.

i recall being there last Halloween weekend too and that bar had a party ( on the Saturday after Halloween ) and line up was like down the street and 100's of people but this year there wasn't even a line up at all?

like wow? what happened , i know its normal for bars that were really popular to gradually lose popularity but that much less popular in less than a year?

like there was literally 100's of people dying to get into that bar last Halloween and this year none? not even a line up that doesn't even make any sense at all

i'm still not sure whats going on here , i went in this bar last Saturday and it was way less busy then normal but people there still seemed to be having a good time. it posted some old pictures to facebook from summer and it still seemed to be busy May , June and July on certain nights but looking at the pictures i didn't recognise many of the people and they never seem to be there on the nights i've been there

there facebook page has suddenly disappeared from view , not sure why or what is going on , yet to be anything released about the bars future or what is going on , feels like the end may be near

It’s easier to understand why when you’re in the industry.. you stay in the loop..

maybe a new place opened up.. or advertising with special events at another—they make it sound promising and fun. Extremely competitive this industry..

yes there is a new bar in that downtown , it had been closed last Halloween for renovation ( it had been a different nightclub before but now renovated into this new place )

but still its Halloween , i've been downtown on Halloween before and is always so many people no one can even get in most of the spots due to capacity rules so like every bar in normally packed full

its seems very odd on such a busy night that it wouldn't even have a line up

i don't actually live in that city so true i might not be getting the whole story as to whats been going on with the bar scene there

have been in this bar before about a month ago and noticed it didn't seem as busy as normal , they had also moved some chairs to occupy some open space and added some new seats closer to the dance floor ( but took away some dance floor by doing so )

so yeah did seem like the owners knew it wasn't as busy and tried to re arrange things to make space seem busier and fuller

but still find it hard to believe that it wasn't even busy on Halloween weekend , like its always been packed on that weekend for years now

usually in the past before the other bar renovated and changed names into the new bar , people used to go to it on Friday nights and everyone went to the other bar on Saturday

but now the new place seems to be busy both Friday and Saturday and other is struggling to get as big a crowd as normal on Saturday , its not even open fridays except for holidays like Halloween it would of been open and sometimes it has ticketed concerts on that night

people there also don't seem to be " bar hoping " as much as before , it used to be people would move around the various bars downtown and a lot headed to this one on Saturday night eventually but when i was there didn't notice much of this anymore , everyone seemed to stay at that new place

sort of an update , not sure what it going on , noticed last Saturday there insta was weird only made 1 post abut Saturday night normally like 10 and then yesterday i noticed there facebook page is no longer publically visible when you search google , says its either been hidden or deleted.
but made no official annoucnment about the bars future , can't really recall a bar that lost so much business but didn't seem to do anything to fix the problem , no attempts at drink specials or new drink menu , no free covers , no reno's, no new social media , nothing a bar typically does to get business back

its like owner just gave up or isn't even paying attention to the situation , i wonder if perhaps he has health problems or an older family member does and perhaps he's pre occupied at moment not sure what is going on really seems really off and odd

If it’s not a huge corporate restaurant, maybe the owner in fact does have health issues or can’t pay rent so closing down

agree that i'm not in the loop , tried to look up the owner online but his last name is too common or isn't bringing anything up.

have no idea what happened to there facebook page , i only checked cause they'd post pictures from bar there and it was only way to see them but now have no idea where the page is

since i don't live in that city can't like walk by to see if anything has been posted on the door or windows , they still have a website and instagram page but are no upcoming events/concerts or anything scheduled and page doesn't even mention valentines day or st patricks day

so maybe still open but really no meaning purpose to be open

its possible the owner has lost a lot of money and trying to cut his loses or find a way out , i checked some real estate sites as a lot of restaurants here have been listed for sale lately but no sign on it anywhere but not sure if he owns the building or not

i was in that city last night ( Saturday ) didn't go in the bar as i went in another and it was this girls birthday and got distracted but i walked by it around 10 30 and 12 30 and at each time it seemed really dead , like no sign of anyone walking to it , it was really cold out , did see some taxi's or cars pull up and some people got out

but when i was near at 12 30 more people seemed to be leaving than anything else , in years past people often left other bars and went there later at night but now seems like no one goes there late

wanted to go inside out of curiosity to see how many people but you have to pay a $10 cover charge and didn't think it be worth it by that point at night but be really surpised if they had more than 100 people in there

Did the bar have a Halloween party this year?

yes i checked there instagram page and it says they were open Friday and Saturday nights with Halloween parties on both nights

when i walked up the street near the bar saw some people smoking near the entrance and a group of girls on the sidewalk but was no line up near the entrance like last year

also note one of the other bars in that city was closed for renovations last year at Halloween so perhaps that was why it was busier last year but still? not even a line up on Halloween weekend
