I like whiskey neat, in a small tulip glass, just a few minutes to open up 🌅
For bourbon, I prefer a large ice cube, to chill it slightly and soften the edges without diluting too fast 🧊
Vodka, for me, is best ice-cold and straight, or in a very clean martini.

Reminds me of a tiny Tokyo bar where a single cube was treated like a jewel in the glass.

Depends on the whiskey. A nice, smooth whiskey can be sipped neat or on the rocks. Woodford Reserve is top of that list for me. I like my Old Fashioned with a strong, bitey bourbon, like Bulleit Rye. The spicy bourbon balances the sweetness of the fruity cocktail components.
I’m not a huge fan of vodka. I like Bloody Mary drinks, but i haven’t ordered one since i discovered Bloody Marias. That flavor profile is just better matched to tequila than vodka, in my opinion.
I do occasionally still drink vodka in the form of a White Russian or Black Russian, when i want a very sweet cocktail.
