Why does the original version of everything not taste good?

When one prefers a localized version, then it's because of one's cultural inflexibility and the inability (or unwillingness) to absorb ''new'' impressions :)

“Original” versions are often simpler, lighter, and closer to tradition. American pizza is usually richer: more cheese, more toppings, more sauce, often more sugar and fat. That hits the pleasure centers hard.

When I first tried Neapolitan pizza in Naples, it felt almost too subtle. Then I started tasting the dough, the char, the tomato. It became amazing in a very different way 🍕
