I remember when I dressed how I was supposed to look-- normal jeans and bright colors. I always felt like that was not "truly" me, but I went with the program. That was back in high school, and when I still listened to what my mom wanted. Yes, I was a mommy's goodie-two-shoes, and tried to be a pleaser type.

As I approached my college era (20s and going on my own), I started to change my wardrobe into a darker style. Yes, I'm talking the "gothic" look. I couldn't hide the fact that I loved how it looked and how "sexy" I felt. I love wearing corsets, dresses, so on. I realized that I didn't need to dress a certain way to get approval from people. That everyone has opinions and judgments on everything that they see. I also realize that I get more compliments from my darker style than what I used to be like.

The Moral of my take is: Be happy with yourself, and don't let people try to make you something you are not. Everyone is going to have an opinion about things you do/wear/etc.
Ps. This is my first my take. 😎 Plus, I know opinions will start flying, but hey, it's part of life.
