The misunderstood INFJ

YES. I love reading, going to plays, music, art, and admiring art and photography. Yesterday night I went to a play for my niece. She danced in The Nutcracker as Clara's sister, Dewdrop and later a dancer. She was SO CUTE and she can really work a crowd.

By the way its spelled theatre not theater. And I just love this picture.

You have no idea how fast I can go from "There is something beautiful in every human being" to "Ugh get me off this planet now."

Now lets break down this personality type letter by letter first:

I for introvert

I am totally ok with not ever going clubbing, I adore cancellations, and talk to myself about book characters.

Yet at the same time...

N for iNtuition

there's no point in lying to me. I probably already know if you are lying. I may not say anything because calling people out leads to unnecessary confrontation.

F for Feeling

I like empathetic badass much more than overly sensitive.

A lot of times, I literally feel pain and happiness from another person and I can't help.

A lot of times, mostly unconcsiously, I absorb emotions. I easily feel peoples happiness and pain.

J for judging

INFJ's are doers, work first play later, and are methodical.

I feel lonely sometimes in a metaphorical sense. I have difficulty explaining how I feel sometimes and 95% of the time will not want to talk about my emotions. Some people think that means I hate them and that dont want to talk to them ever.

This is how INFJ's deal with pain. Commonly called the INFJ door slam. I will have infinite forgiveness until one day, I have none.

I Love this! Well said. I am between and INFJ and INTJ. For a long time I believed that it was so horrible to be "shy" ( which I am not, I am just very selective to who I want in my inner circle or who to waste breath talking too).
Until it became a thing, I really loved some of Lana Del Rey's music... until...
People always say that I seem to gravitate to what is sad. I believe instead, that I do not gravitate to cheap thrills or happiness but look for deeper understandings, feelings and meanings.
I live in Atlanta and it has become a hotbed for "wanna be" in everything, perpetually "positive" people ( who are only trying to jump on this The Secret type band wagon, and deep conversation you tend to only find in small enclaves of people.
Dating is very hard for me because I can spot bull before it even starts--which is a good thing but bad thing due to the fact that I am usually right. I am very intuitive and sensitive.
After living constantly trying to change these things because the world tends to tell us how important it is to be outgoing and go-getters, and constantly being upset later because I tried and it made me feel miserable... I totally embrace all that encompasses me. I am artistic, an incredible writer, an intuitive deep thinker, and clubs and bars and social meet and greets don't appeal to me. It seems that everyone is being someone and putting on a facade ( as we all do from time to time), but it appears that in those settings---almost Everyone does.
At times it does feel uncomfortable to be so "odd" to others but it is so comforting to Know now that makes me special and extrodinarily unique.

I don't know why but I really like that take - It is a good way to look at your own personality and breaking down with quotes on a INFJ personality then your own observations.
I might do something like that - I must do the test again because I keep forgetting what I am, I have a feeling I am the "Guardian, Protector, Teacher, Nurturer" or something close to that - If I look back at my answers you will definitely I have called myself two types because I was picked up on it by another user and I couldn't honestly remember for sure which of the two types I was.

That's such a true myTake... I am a INFJ myself and I just feel like you resumed my life in less than two hundred words... I just discovered the MBTI test and it completely fits my personality. First of all, I wanna say I really like your online personality and that was a very well written description of INFJs. As an INFJ myself, obviously this is exactly how I am. I don't know why but I feel like I'd like you as a person. (Maybe because you're one of the few like me lol) But I just wanna say that if you have any insecurities about yourself or anxiety about anything, you can do it. And even though I don't know you at all other than knowing you have a niece and watched her performance, I'm proud of you. Just know that people are always going to be there for you whether you know it or not. (Sorry that was really random)

People are no one specific type of personality. INFJ is what i got as well the first time i took it, then i got a host of other personalities as well, i don't necessarily consider this a well written my_take as it simply has a lot of pictures but not much words.
Suddenly everyone on GAG becomes this personality type when they make up less than one percent of the population perhaps its a host of people doing so but in reality i believe people are in truth lying about their true personality. My personal guess is that kids your age are more attuned than previous generations to the emotions of others inherently increasing the total pop of the personality "infj". Anyways i wish you had put more effort into this than just a bunch of pictures, however, nice job.

I am a work first play later type of person intp's are play first work later and I easily absorb peoples emotions. Since you are the "older" generation (when really you are 20) why don't you go fix the hole in our economy?

I can totally relatr to everything. After i learned i was an INFJ a lot of things made sense like absorbing energies and why i would go from happy to pissed in a matter of seconds, I love writing, reading and all things related to art and music. It's always goo to learn about the personality types it helps you understand that everyone is different and why people are the way they are.

Great mytake. I knew I was different when I was a child but when I took the personality test and got this I finally found out something that made me special. I fit most if not all traits of an INFJ but in real life most would pick up on my mannerisms.

There was one scene with really little kids and they didn't know what they were doing but it was cute. My niece is so passionate about dance and I love it!

Aww that would have been cute to watch! They are always cute when the act naturally like that. As a former Preschool Assistant many of the kids in my class were in Dance, A theatre troupe, or karate/sport. Some of the parents were like stereotypical soccer moms/ Dance moms etc... We did have a few kids in a theatre troupe that were in I believe a production of "Wizard of Oz" I'm not sure though it's been a few years.
