For many of the people who look for an escape from reality, I understand. Though my reasons may be vastly different from yours, we all just seek to be at peace with ourselves and to be happy.
However, there are some harmful escapes; drugs, alcohol, doing regretful things with your life that may mark the end of it. It's impossible for me to tell anyone to value their own life because it's up to you to decide that even if you struggle with the process. I just hope that everyone knows that there is alternatives to harmful ways to escape reality.
I found mine in music. I'm fairly emotional as most of my active readers would know, but even my small amount of life experience has taught me to be more resilient and to learn how to move on and not get attached to anything too much; let things come and go on their own and enjoy the process.
Growing up, I've had piano lessons, and always enjoyed singing. When I was young, I had tried to write some songs, but most of them sounded like a Jacob Sartorius song, but made by a 4th grader (no offence to all his fans out there, but it's what my songs sounded like).
However more recently, my friend introduced me to Jack & Jack.
I had already been familiar with a few of the songs they wrote; long before I even had a clue about who the artists were, and I was glad I could get that figure out. Their songs are beautiful and are what I consider to be the perfect music that matches my taste.
Sometimes I like fun/ playful songs and sometimes I like mellow ones that make me feel a sort of melancholy. More importantly, they help me move on from experiences that I should be letting go of, and now, I feel like my life is back on track which has made me so much happier.
I'm started to write my own songs, and trying to create a sound that is similar to their songs, but adding my own elements and lyrics to make it my own.
For anyone who's going through some love/ relationship related issues (breakups, trying to move on, maybe you just started liking someone, realized someone was not as good at you thought, etc) then I highly recommend Jack & Jack. My favourite includes Distraction, Closure, Hurt People, 2 Cigarettes, Beg, etc).
I'm particularly liking Hurt people, Closure and Distraction because a week or 2 after I stopped talking to this guy I was at one point taking things too serious with, these were the songs that made me accept the situation and fully move on. Plus, Jack & Jack are super hot! Jack Gilinsky is literally goals! lol I'll try to stop fan-girling. Enjoy, my dudes ;) lates!
