Cosplay, lingerie, and drinks. Where are the boys?
Cosplay, lingerie, and drinks. Where are the boys?

My first ever myTake is here! So there's this question that's quite popular today by @chris_987 and I wanted to answer this separately, because honestly this isn't the first time I'm hearing this.

The question is: Why would girls have lingerie parties where only females are invited?

I doubt the guy will feel comfortable, and neither will we.

There's going to be a tremendous amount of girl talk about makeup, beauty gurus, fashion, boys, lingerie, tips on how to impress your boyfriend or crush, yada yada. So unless you're a gay guy, I doubt you'll find all that interesting. Also, lingerie parties are meant to be private with no guys, because many have boyfriends and don't want another dude creeping or hitting on us.

It's about bonding and building confidence.

Lingerie is about feeling sexy, just as muscles and beards are for guys. If a guy compliments another guy for his muscles he's straight, but when a girl comments on another girl she's not? See the double standards? The compliments may be a bit more than your average party, but that has nothing do with romance and everything to do with making one another feel pretty.

No, this does not mean girls are leaving guys.

Does this mean guys won't find a straight girl ever again? Nope. I'm sorry but again, just because you flatter someone for looking pretty doesn't mean you're not straight. I'm taken and so are most of my friends. Lingerie party is meant to be between close friends, not lovers.
