When girls wear short shorts in public, do they do it with the intention of showing off their legs?

now, i know they wear them because the weather is hot and because its comfortable or whatever, but is there also a part of them that enjoys having their legs on display? when i go to malls and see all the girls wearing shorts/skirts i get very distracted and can't help but drool (figuratively). girls, imagine going out and seeing shirtless, six-packed guys every. i find it amazing that/if girls don't even know they are doing this. is it really just the way they decided to dress that day?

Personally, when I wear Shorts I do it because the weather allows it. But I think there is always that aspect of showing off your legs (if you can why not? :D). It's the same with cleavage, if a girl wears it she should be aware that it's distracting for guys. If I catch a guy looking I don't mind, I am provoking it in a way with my Outfit (as long as he is not too creepy and looks like he's gonna rape me).
But to answer your question fully: It depends, I have friends who dress that way to get a guys attention. Maybe because they normally don't get the attention they want/deserve but who knows. I personally (as said) dress that way because I like it and I am comfortable with it :D

I mainly wear them because it gets so hot out. I rarely think about if guys are checking me out because they likely aren't. I used to actually be very self conscious about showing my legs. I used to be overweight and I've lost a lot of weight, and now I have stretch marks and I worry maybe even cellulite. So I used to always wear jeans or pants even on the hottest days because I was so self-conscious about it. Now I don't care. I'd rather be cool. If people don't like it, they don't have to look. People tell me it's not noticeable, but I think it probably is if someone really looks. So I definitely don't wear short shorts for guys. I do it for myself.

Normally, girls do not dress with the intention of making guys attracted to them. They wear short skirts/dresses/shorts because they are in style and cute, and because its hot. Girls minds are not as visual as guys, we don't think about how what we are wearing might affect guys, usually, unless we're going on a date with a guy.

Or maybe that's how they ALWAYS dress. Wearing shorts is normal and you shouldn't give such deep thought to it.
