Girl is outgoing to everyone but me?

A girl I know is super nice, smart, and outgoing. She doesn't seem shy around most people. However, whenever we talk it always seems awkward. For instance I will say "hi" then she will say "hi" back a pause and then "how is it going?" I would reply "Good. you?" Her response, "Pretty good." Maybe a brief comment on school, work and such then we separate. Does she like me? I feel that she does, but she isn't exactly shy. Does she like me or am I imagining things? I wouldn't mind dating her, but it isn't like I am going to ask her out. Please Help

Just adding a few more details.

Generally in our conversations things start out well. We're friendly and then after a few exchanges the conversation dies off. Also I know a lot of her friends pretty well, but I don't exactly know her.

It could go either way, friend. There was a guy who based on what everyone said and his actions to me, was deeply in love with me and I was too, but I hid it so well and ignored him, so he was never sure about my feelings for him. (My parents were strict so I wasn't allowed to date back then, so I had no choice). He was a shy guy but a jock, I was the open artsy girl, so you can see that we were opposites in social groups. So even though I I had no problems talking to people but I would avoid talking to him because I would stutter, tremble, or blush my face off when I talked to him. BUT if she really couldn't care less about you she could do those short, minimal responses you mentioned. I'm not the type of person who ignores people who I don't care much for, I mean I try to be polite and upbeat all the time, but a guy im not interested in keeps saying hey and tries to have a conversation with me, eventually it gets hard not to respond with short, minimal replies. I think you need to consider her actions with you as a whole, and not just this use this as a basis of determining anything.

Read you're details, but it's still hard to say from that :/. The best way to know if a girl/guy likes you without asking them is by always paying attention to their body language, which is based on scientific studies. Look up flirting body language articles on google for sure and pay close attention to her when you two talk. You've done a good job of noticing how she changes around you, but there's more to this story. Hope that helps!

I am doing the exact thing with this guy I know. I'm really outgoing towards everyone except this one guy I know. She could really like you and not know how to deal with you, but she could also really just not like you. When I'm dealing with this guy I don't like, my whole demeanor changes, but not fast enough to be rude. I go from smiling and laughing and joking to awkward and cold. It could honestly go either way. Either trust your instincts, or ask her straight up what's going on. But, if u ask her straightforward like that, there is a chance she'll clam up and have a moment of stupidity and say she really doesn't like you even if she does. (I feel like I'm not being much help...) but seriously, that's pretty much the only things that could be going on with her

Yeah sometimes it's about personality combinations. It could be that you are giving off an awkward vibe... Or it could also mean she does get flustered when she talks to you and does like you... Hard to determine... Does she act interested and then the conversation dies perhaps? So why wouldn't you consider asking her out? You could possibly invite her to hang out with some of her friends and yours if you're trying trying to avoid an awkward first time out... Or maybe get a couple drinks, happy hour to also lighten the load... ?
