I hate to break it to you, but if you told her that you liked her and all she said in return was thank you, chances are she doesn't like you back but she didn't want to completely turn your confession and compliment down so she was polite and said thank you. At least she cares about your feelings and she considered them. I am not saying she definitely does not like you. There is a small chance she does, but usually I tell a guy thanks when he gives me a compliment along with the, telling me they like me when I don't like them back but do not want to hurt their feelings.
