On a daily basis I change my underwear at least once/twice a day. But on my period, I stay in one pair of underwear as it always gets stained anyway changing my sanitary towel every now and again. Yes I know it's unhygienic but it's better then having 10 pairs of blood-stained panties.

Ok so I get why some people are disgusted by this... but I sometimes want to do the same. I get lazy and don't want to clean them too, but then its going to smell and the stain may just stay forever if its a pair of panties that you like. I guess this also goes with the question of whether you use pads or tampons. Tampons are of course less messy, but if they're not to your preference or comfortability then so be it.

So what I do is, if I bled on them while out of the house, I get as much as I can off with toilet paper, and put a panty liner over it so it won't bother me when I put them back on.
If I'm at home, I change if its a bigger spot (half the palm of your hand or bigger). When you take off the bled-on pair or underwear, rinse it with cold water, and also rinse with laundry detergent if you're not rinsing it the same day it was 'ruined'. After that, you can just put it in the laundry like normal and there'll be little to no stain :)
I have a bag I keep in the bathroom for bloodied underwear that is rinsed off and ready for laundry, and at the end of my period I wash it all together.

That's just disgusting! I don't care how many panties I need to buy, but I change mine multiple times a day when I'm on my periods. If a panty of mine gets covered in too much blood (it does happen.. No matter how careful you are), then I just throw it away and buy new ones. I also wash my panties separately at this time of the month and have two showers a day because I Hate feeling dirty, especially down there. Call me crazy but I feel a whole lot better when I smell good and it keeps me being nice to people. Lol I get cranky when I'm not clean... Might be why most girls bite off people's heads when on their PMS.

I always change my underwear once a day, on my period and off of it. If it's dirty I soak it, then hand wash, then put it in the washing machine. Mine usually only gets dirty on the first day though because on the first day I don't know and I found out whenever I go to the bathroom after I've gotten it. My underwear just looks bleached on some, I don't have any blood stains.

I'm super hygienic and at the very minimum have a bath/shower and change my clothes twice a day.
I change my underwear twice a day and I would change it a lot more if I was a girl and on my period.

I would suggest buy cheap pair of cotton panties and just use them while your on your period
after your done you can always wash all them at once for just one big wash.

And you have regular panties ( the ones that are cute and you don't want to get them dirty)

And if they do get stained you hand wash it. Don't wear only one pair of underwear for your whole period.😷

Every women (most) has a group of period panties and those are the ones they don't mind getting stained. And if you wash em right after most of the blood comes off. I have like 20 period panties and it doesn't bother me. Its better than only having one.

I think it depends on whether you are wearing pads or tampons. If you are wearing a pad, I can understand wearing the same underwear. If you are wearing tampons... I think it would be a good idea to change...

What's the big deal about wearing the same panties for about a week? If I get something on them, then of course I change my underwear, but I almost never get anything on them, so why not wear them everyday? Besides, there is one pair that is perfect for wearing with pads, so I tend to stick with that one.

I've had my period since I was 10. I always have had at least 7 designated pairs of underwear for my period. I have a condition where my flow is extremely heavy and after many accidents I now wear 2 pads at a time. I'm very OCD when it comes to my period and being clean so I could never wear the same pair. If even a drop gets on them I'm changing them. I mean I get why you do it, but it's just kinda nasty lol.

You're nasty. I just buy underwear that is reserved for periods and I change multiple times. It's hard to do it at work, but at home I change my underwear when I change my pad. The girls who all voted yes are disgusting women.

i have around 10 underwears for my period only they are cotton underwears they are very comfortable and cheap i wear one underwear for around 2 hours then i change the pad only if the underwear isn't stained but if it is i directly change it and if the underwear is stained i wash it and i wear another one and so on and anyway i change my underwear everyday whether i am on my period or not if necessary even twice a day

I've always assumed virtually everyone wore a fresh pair each day... maybe it's not so bad in the US, I guess it might be hotter/more humid here (Australia), but it still seems disgusting to me...

Going by the poll a third of girls/women don't change their underwear during that week/few days, I'm surprised more than anything, I guess I tend to think of women as being more concerned about hygiene than men.
