Can a cough be interpreted as a sign of disgust?

This may sound like a bizarre if not absurd question but if a girl (or guy) coughs/clears their throat can it be read/interpreted as a sign of disgust or disapproval? Is this true or am I just being paranoid/over sensitive? I know this question makes me sound crazy but there are some instances where I can't see it just being that fact that the person has a cold, sore throat or is a smoker.

need more details...how did she cough and after saying what exactly? how long have you known her?

generally, id say no. because people cough all the time, including myself, sometimes girls have to burp and they don't wanna embarass themselves so they pretend to cough to cover it up...lol. it could be a million reasons...

I've never heard that before. Maybe they are just coughing. They may need to clear their throat. Unless the person is giving you other signs that they are disgusted I think you're being paranoid.
