My date doesn’t seem to be very healthy, his breath is not very good, he is very slim and coughed for 2 months straight after Covid, also he always easily gets sick.
We had this moment when we shared a passionate kiss on two dates.
I now feel like my mouth smells similar to his. I hate this. I don’t want to date him anymore and I also want to get rid of this gross feeling.

Yup, the transfer of microorganisms is unavoidable with all human contact, especially during the exchange of bodily fluids. Use Listerine mouth wash. The only thing stronger would require you to buy a concentrated mouth wash, like Dr. Tichenor’s, and not dilute it, or get a prescription for a medicinal mouthwash. You can use hydration peroxide, but it tastes terrible and it’s actually poisonous if you accidentally ingest some. What i do is use Listerine in the amounts suggested for water to dilute the Tichenor’s. I have a thing about oral hygiene.
Bad breath is caused by infection, so it can be yes.
However, the more common bad bacteria that usually cause bad breath, you inhale them all day from the air, but because you have good bacteria in your mouth, it kills them off before they can multiply. So for you to contract most strains that cause bad breath by kissing, you would already need to have lost your good bacteria (unless he is carrying a superbug, then you would catch it regardless by kissing).
Taking antibiotics is usually why people lose their good bacteria, and unfortunately its also the way people tend to ditch contracted bad bacteria..
