Being called a whore is directly targeting you as a woman. "whore" is an insult that is pretty much only effective on women, because in general men are encouraged to be more promiscuous where as women are discouraged from it. Like I said, to YOU it might not feel that bad, but to a woman, it's an awful thing to say. The word "whore" has the connotation of being cheap, being passed around, etc etc and that is not what any woman wants to be seen as, especially with the ever-growing number of sexual assaults and rapes, being called "damaged goods" (which is essentially what someone means when they call someone a whore, as in, they are no longer pure or virginal) is extremely offensive.
