Why would that be a sexy trait? I certainly don't feel sexy when I'm curled up in bed, crying, feeling completely and utterly worthless, hopeless, ugly, and stupid, or when I'm looking at a bottle of pills and thinking how easy it would be to just end it all.

Anyone trying to turn that into something "sexy" needs to stop and examine their priorities. Girls can be sexy *despite* being depressed, but not *because* they're depressed.

Depression, mental illness and self harming aren't things that are sexy, attractive, beautiful or desirable. People need to stop romanticizing it. Wanting to die isn't sexy. Scars from cutting or burning aren't sexy-- and no guy is going to kiss them unless they are totally cliche and from a John Green novel. Having a medicine cabinet full of zoloft and xanax isn't sexy.

Nah, people are typically attracted to joy. Perky girls are fun. Therefore, guys are attracted to happy girls.

I wouldn't say that depression is sexy. However, I won't deny that there isn't a certain appeal to a damaged person. Pain is humanizing and being human is beautiful.

I certainly didn't expect to see the replies from the guys. It actually touched my heart.
I've had depression for a long time and have always thought guys steer clear from depressed girls. I didn't expect to see guys say they feel protective or like they want to help them. It kind-of put a happy tear in my eye. :')

I don't feed off of people's sadness and being depressed changes people's mood around you... so no I dont think it's attractive.

Sexy is more of act/attitude of confidence and depressed is nowhere close to being confident.
